How much money did Kerry waste on this little jaunt to Springfield? I think he may be more daft than Gore. I think so too. It's just wacky and desperate. And he had the nerve to say something about how now that Bush's speech is finally over, he can talk. It's not his night; it's Bush's night. What arrogance.
This must be what happens when someone basically skates through all his Senate contests and is really not challenged in the primaries. (Weld didn't really challenge him - he just basically parroted him). Couple that with a sycophantic media in his home state. Kerry is really thin skinned. My guess is the Swiftvets are about to drop a double barreled blast right in his lap.
You're right; he never did get tested in the primaries. Once Dean imploded, the nomination fell to him by default. It's unbelievable how thin-skinned he is; I thought you had to have a thicker skin than that to get through politics. And all the Vietnam talk was a joke six months ago, and he still mentions it in every speech. Talk about living in the past!

You must have gone to a different rally than the Dayton Daily Democrat. They said that he spoke before a "large and enthusiastic crowd....".
They also said that he was "a decorated Navy veteran from the Vietnam War....." why has no one on this site mentioned this?

Didn't have a good crowd. Kerry should realize a lot of people have to get up AND GO TO WORK in the morning. Oh, that's right, Kerry wouldn't know what having a real job is like.

I heard him on TV last night say again, "I defended this country as a young man, and I will defend it as President." He was pathetic and couldn't stand up without wobbling. I was embarassed for him.

Kerry is plainly out ot it! He is either severely depressed or he has taken to hitting the sauce. Did you notice how red his cheeks were? Nor, could he focus properly on his subject matter which was a waste anyway. For a man that has a week off for all practical purposes, you would have thought he would be well rested, ready for action and right on message. He was none of these. I personally believe that he does not have the drive or stamina for a prolonged run. GW Bush has it all over him in the stamina department. This man Kerry is not fit to be a dog catcher, no less a POTUS. America, defeat this weakling traitor and send him back to the black hole that he came from!!!

Midnight Madness in Springfield.
The Columbus Dispatch said that 15,000 supporters were there. Does any know the real number?

"Edwards sounded like a huckster to me and like his heart wasn't really in it."
Oddly enough, that was my take on Edwards' speech. You could hear the desperation in his voice. They were begging for votes.

Poor showing for Kerry supporters. Lots of empty space in main area. And they advertized free tickets in all sorts of places including a local Beauty Parlor.
Good show for Bush supporters. They had to bring up a big sign to hide the Bush supporters from the TV cameras. They did that right after the Bush supporters all started chanting "Flip Flop" and waving their arms. I am very encouraged.

I now see the strategy for this totally amoral party in this election contest. The enabling media will continue to lie about Kerry and Edwards event numbers and poll numbers, as much as they can, right up to Election Day. When the actual Election results start coming in as a landslide for Bush, they will scream "FRAUD."
Kerry supporters: those who were in the streets of NYC this week, and the seminar CSPAN callers and the totally uninformed will instantly believe that the election results can ONLY have happened by the evil Republicans' manipulating the voting machines.
It is going to be really ugly.

Who wants to show up at 12 o'clock at night? I saw it and it was awful. Kerry started with detailed numbers and he put everyone to sleep. All of the networks that were carrying it, cut away. Way too long.
Desperation mode is a funny thing to see. Kerry's rhetoric will get sharper and the Bush administration will make him look like Howard Dean when voting starts.
Bush has a lot more ammo left. They will save the best for last. They are going to have a field day with his Senate record.

I heard that he didn't get to see Bush's speech because he was inflight (to his Midnight Madness speech). They don't have a TV on his plane? I've ridden buses with TV's on them. Why would they make a point of saying that he wouldn't be able to see the president's speech...heard it several times.
Also, what was with his suddenly yanking the mic of the stand and pacing back and forth on the stage? Looked agitated.
