See my post #138, shipmate. I just don't get it, especially from KerrEy.

Bob sKerrey is another one of those winners of medals under strange conditions - how does disobeying orders and going the wrong direction, stepping on a mine, getting one's foot blown off qualify for a Medal of Honor?
To: George W. Bush
" 2. In '92 when running against Clinton in the primaries, he said, "Something most people don't realize is that he's a remarkably good liar." Now, after his distinguished Senate career, it all comes down to saying "F*** You" to the Swifties. What a proud record."
I had forgotten about his remark about clinton's lies and spin. Good talking point. Do you know where we can find the official record of it? If I recall correctly, Kerrey supported clinton once he lost the nomination. Another flip-flop KerrEy? Wonder if the SBVT's could use it in this unwarranted attack?

"Bob Kerrey's brains must have been in the leg he lost."
Debra Winger came to Lincoln when sKerrey was Governor of Nebraska and swept him off his foot. "The terms of endearment" in that encounter, however were relatively short lived.

If you google
Bob Kerrey Clinton remarkably good liar, you'll see some listings, mostly quoting Esquire. #6 in the list is from a previous time I quoted this here at FR. During that campaign, it was a one-day news story for the networks. At the time he said it, his campaign which had been expected to do quite well was going nowhere because he couldn't give a decent speech anywhere. That and some bad ideas like national health care which helped Clinton get elected after he stole them from Kerrey.
Bob Kerrey is the
other war-hero Dim who thought he deserved to be president. But he dated Deb Winger instead of marrying the Heinz fortune.

Insanity I could forgive...duplicity and expediency I can't. It really pains me to see a SEAL behave this way. They are America's best and, usually, take their honor and discipline into civilian life. What causes an honorable American fighting man to lose his bearings? Am I naive because I've never been in battle, although I've had run-ins with Soviet subs and warships? What am I missing here? How can an ex-SEAL behave so? I'm at a lost.

I don't think when or why someones "sells out" makes a difference.
Being in combat or not.
It was a decision he made, and will have to answer for it.
I know I wouldn't want to be in his shoes when he meets his Maker.

Paris. Kerry tried to hide in Paris but his draft board nixed it.
So he picked a slot he thought would be far from combat.
When he got into danger he escaped by forging three purple hearts--and other medals.

I choked when one of the Swiftees (Adm. Hoffman?) said he was all enthused when he got a call from Sen. Kerry asking his help to run for President, thinking it was Senator Bob Kerrey.
How he could have thought that was a good idea is beyond me.
I bet he's rethinking his former stance on that one.
