Listening to Kerry speech at AL convention live
9/1/04 | Self

Posted on 09/01/2004 8:59:28 AM PDT by Blood of Tyrants

Kerry on local radio at the American Legion convention in Nashville.

He starts off by buying John Glenn's support by promising him another trip into space.

Opening joke about him having a problem keeping his speech under 10 minutes falls absolutely flat.

""Hey, Kerry, how about releasing your book?"

"I released my book before I pulled it from circulation"

"Hey, Kerry, why were you holding the American flag upside down and mocking the U.S. Marine Corps?"

"The flag is NOT upside down, you are holding the book wrong. Everything else is upside down"

No one in the united states doubted the outcome in Iraq or how swiftly the war would be won. No one. We knew we had the best trained troops in the world and true to form they performed magnificently. And we are all proud and grateful.

Funny but I seem to remember Kerry saying something like "We need a regime change in America" around this time!

yeh, the someone posted he mentions McCain more than he does Edwards! Ha!

Kerry is delusional, and blames everyone but himself when things go wrong.

"I didn't fall, that SOB cut me off!"

I'm not exactly famous for "forward thinking" but no matter what else happens Nov 3, I am over-joyed that the Vets finally get their chance to kick him long, hard and many times.
[and I have no idea how or if this will "affect" W]
All I know is I had 2 uncles over there and my only regret is that one is not alive to see this now.
I hope the Swiftees hang lock their collective jaws around his leg like pitbulls until the bitter end.

[but that's just *me*]...:)

I think most of the "looting" he was decrying was looting of radioactive material and government records. It is ironic that he would have given the inspectors more time, and thus more time for Saddam to destroy incriminating records himself.

The whole thing was disjointed. He keeps acting like Iraq wasn't even part of the War On Terror, so why would Kerry have even been there in the first place?

Plus, remind me not to ever go into a room full of people who participated in the D-Day landing and tell them what the military woulda coulda shoulda done.

Kerry's health plan is probably Hillary's old health plan with her name scratched out and his written over hers.

Ahhhh, isn't Tora Bora part of Afganistan?

Right. It's extremely difficult to follow his reasoning, but he said something to the effect that the people we put in charge of securing Tora Bora were people we were fighting against just 2 weeks earlier.

Then later he said we should train more Iraqis to be police and military.

He tried some of his class warfare and "economic conservative" stuff as well. One thing that struck me- he has NEVER EVER proposed any CUTS IN SPENDING. With him it's all about taxing the "right" people.

My active duty son called and is concerned about his absentee ballot form getting to him on time. I know our state ballots will not be printed until after the primary; however, I called the state RNC to have another ballot sent (here to his registered domicile) to him just to be on the safe side.

Everyone can ask for and receive an absentee ballot. You don't have to use it, but, it's a safeguard just in case you can't make it to the polls.

He said the congress votes themselves the best healthcare in the world, and YOU PAY FOR IT! (emphasis his)

And if he had voted against it he would have said so, But he didn't did he. HA HA john, people that think they're smart. don't realize others are and do think beyond what he can put together.

I noticed he constantly used the royal "WE" and "OUR". His whole speech was a lie. He's never done one good thing for the veterans and did NOTHING for the MIA/POWs. He and McCain tried to sully the names of the wives of these men. "He, as president, is going to make sure our fighting forces have the equipment and armament they need". Yeah, sure. He's already proved how he made sure our guys and gals in Iraq got the money for their equipment and armament.
OOOO this fellow is truly the "vietnam candidate".

Having gone through the process of ensuring that The Sailor can vote, I found out that there is another easy way to ensure that our military can receive their ballots. If you are stressing out trying to figure out how to get an application, you can click on the Sample to find out how to do it.

You will need to open up the ballot with Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don't know how to open up .pdf files, don't worry. You can easily visit their site to get a free installation of Adobe's Acrobat reader.

We must all work together to ensure that our Troops have the right to vote. This is the least we can do for them. If you know anyone overseas or stationed away from their "home of records", please send them this link. It is important.

Somone complained that the military around Ft. Hood have difficulty (I'm not sure if it is time off or location or what) registering to vote.

One time , during the Kerry speech to the VA, the handful started clapping for something he said, and he paused to milk the clapping, and it just stopped, You could almost hear the air being sucked out of Kerry.

I didn't see the entire thing. That must have been priceless to watch. I was President of the American Legion Auxiliary and I know how rowdy they can be. LOL I wish they would have booed him. 8^)
