That was great.....perfect symbol of Kerry....just what I'd hoped would happen when I posted this one last March:

There have been snide comments for over six months that sKerry had problems not yet fathomed. It has been clear to me that those had to do with his peacenik activities (though i'm not sure he's ever changed).

I'm so angry about this traitor that I could...

I watched it. Zell was looking for a fight, and Matthews was enjoying it, and Zell in part, was just having fun himself, messin' with Chrissie. This was much ado about nothing. Fun though. Matthews is usually the asshole, but not here. Matthews had the good sense not to go to far in messing with Zell.

As much as I depise Matthews, I do know that he loves "the process," if you know what I mean. He's actually one of the "ol' pols."

I just saw the Zell-Chris fight. I loved it, and the crowd seemed to love it as well!

There was obviously a breakdown in communication at the beginning of the interview

I think there's more to it than that. Republicans were furious over Chris' treatment of Michelle Malkin...Chris kept quoting something she DID NOT SAY ("You're saying Kerry shot himself!").

I think Zell was prepped to be on the lookout for that rhetorical trick...misquote the guest. Chris said Zell questioned Kerry's patriotism...exactly the opposite of what Zell said from the podium.

Zell was prepared and he pounced.

Well, damn, this just gets better and better; Larry Gatlin just told some guy who was booing him to shut up......that when he gets to be a big star, he'd let him talk.

I so hope you are right. I lived in NYC for a couple of years and there was, among friends, a certain arrogance about the Midwest and definitely the South. Of course I hung around with journalists who were just starting out, mostly Northwestern and Syracuse educated so it wasn't like I was getting exposed to the heart and soul of New York:)

Is Ron Reagan insufferable or what? He's so smarmy and untalented.

Gatlin said he worked 40 years for this opportunity..He said Matthews was rude...Don't ask a question and not allow someone the opportunity answer.

Mu suspicion that there's a lot of dirt out there on Kerry hascome from the quiet at the Bush camp.

From the day Kerry secured the nomination, Bush/Cheney has looked like a cat with canary feathers in its whiskers.

How about Larry's answer to Barnicle's earlier question of "Why is the GOP almost always better organized?":

"Because its a lot easier to organize around the truth than smoke and mirrors!"

This left coast chap, when he meets a genuine no BS down to earth soul, no tinsel, no BS, just straight forward, without pretense, someone you sense you can trust, finds to a shocking percentage of the time, that that person is from the Midwest. And that's a fact. Just my little anecdotal experience. Of course, I was not raised in the Midwest, and the parent who really shaped my character, was from NYC. Go figure.
