Trouble on the campaign trail. A bad day to be a Kerry supporter.
Best of the web | August 31, 2004 | James Taranto

James Taranto of Best of the Web found this entry on the Democratic Underground website:

“I had a horrible experience canvassing today. We went out canvassing Democrats today to ask them to support Kerry and our local candidates. We were in apartment complexes and lower middle class housing. The young Democrats living there told us they were voting for Bush! We even met a young marine who said he was just back from Iraq and supports the war, which is why he is voting for Bush. These people have nothing and they are the ones Bush is hurting the most, and yet they support him. And they are registered Dems and young. Why is this happening. I thought our base was solid. This is very frightening. We walked for five hours and only met two people who supported Kerry on our Democratic list! What does this mean?”

Hello DIMRAT canvassers,

The following instructions are to help you understand the phenomenon you discovered werein you kept running into so many Bush supporters and just didn't understand it:

1. Sit down at a desk or table and take a big red crayon or red marker and in bold block letters print out the word "IDIOT" about 2" high. Affix some good tape to both ends of the strip with "IDIOT" on it. Perhaps Duct Tape would do nicely.

2. Find the smallest true room in your house--it usually has a sink about waist height and a big, usually white porcelain device that most people have the sense to sit on when getting rid of waste.

3. In this room, you will likely find a largish piece of glass--usually over the sink. Affix your new sign under this piece of glass.

4. With the light still on, stand in front of the sink and ponder long and hard until some insight begins to creep into your cranium. You may need occasional feedings and waterings until the light in your skull begins to at least faintly glow.

Saw this one, Gentlemen.

Sarmajor, you CAN'T convince me that you couldn't use those time-honored words in the NCO's lexicon:

"Here You Go, PFC!"

Looks like a FR poster is playing at DU. But I hope it is true.

I have only met one person supporting Kerry. After a brief conversation I don't believe this person is capable of finding their polling place. Stupid space cadet for sure.

they are the ones Bush is hurting the most, and yet they support him.

The anti-American LIBERALS, those extreme leftists that make up Kerry's base, just don't get it.

Agree completely. It all just sounds too good to be true--low-income registered democrats AGAINST Kerry? Don't buy it.

"Here You Go, PFC!"

The report I had to do is one of those I sort of enjoy. Also, I have a saying posted that says, "If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over."

I wouldn't trust a PFC or most SPCs to do that report, much less do it right the second time.

Went to the Democratic Underground site, because I wanted to witness their pain first hand, and their naivity.

Post from the site:

"My friend is a MENSA and is still going to vote for Bush Talked to an old friend last week who I haven't spoken with in years. He's brilliant, a member of MENSA, and I knew he was a Repub. But I would have thought the last 3 1/2 years would have severed any possible attachment he may have felt toward this administration. I asked him if he'd changed his ways, but to my astonishment, he went on to attack Kerry, never mentioning any of the high crimes and misdemeanors of the Bush years. We're friends and we agreed to disagree. But how in the hell does anyone on this planet with an IQ higher than Forrest Gump's justify sticking with Bush/Cheney/Rove et al? Highly puzzled. In some basic way, am I confusing intelligence with common sense? "

WSJ reported yesterday that only 300 people showed up for Beckley, WV rally for Edwards... that he's already worn out his welcome there in a RAT stronghold.

"Why is this happening."

Because you have a loser for a candidate.

"I thought our base was solid."

Now what have I told you about thinking! You know you're not equipped for that sort of thing.

"This is very frightening."

Life is full of disappointments...and this is one of them...DEAL WITH IT.

The left is starting to get a clue, now it's going to get....interesting. By the end of Sept first part of Oct they are going to go postal..

Another Dumb Democrat quote:

Pennsylvania's Republican delegation lasted three days inside Democratic territory before they were rounded up and sent to a reeducation camp. About 30 delegates, their spouses, a few children and one United States senator were put into an environmentally friendly bus and dispatched to the Bowery Mission. They peeled potatoes, sorted castoff clothing, tutored the unschooled, and served lunch to the lost. Because Republicans were doing this, a collection of indignant liberals, some of them from the neighborhood, engaged in the ultimate protest: picketing a soup kitchen because they consider the kitchen volunteers uncharitable. "It's like, 'Oh, let's go feed the homeless. Let's arrive in our air conditioned, magic bus and we'll be here for an hour and then we'll all go back to our five-star hotel,'" said Cole Schneider, 21, a New York University student from Denver. What was going on was a program called "Compassion Across America." The Bush campaign encouraged Republicans to get themselves to soup kitchens, homeless shelters and counseling centers. Then, to avoid any confusion, they put it on the press schedule. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=103x70990
