Britney Spears has been banned from a political party conference-for being too sexy.
The blonde singer, who is a supporter of George W. Bush, was due to play at the Republican National Convention in New York.
But Britney, whose raunchy image was seen as 'potentially doing more bad than good' for the party, was rejected by top politicians after it was leaked that she was to make a surprise appearance.
An insider said, 'We are a serious political party and don't need Britney to promote us.'
'Besides, with the headlines she has been recently attracting it would do more harm than good to the Bush cause.'
Show her good intentions first, then see how it goes..

I would have actually watched the convention if Britney was on there, just to see something attractive....yes that means there isn't very much to look at here in Baghdad!!!

What surprised me, wasn't that Alice Cooper was republican, but that he is an outspoken Christian.
I'm glad Britney is a republican, but her head hasn't been on straight enough for the last couple of years to be a role model at the republican convention. I got to agree with the party pooper on this one.

Seriously though, just seeing a celeb with the star power of Spears (she does have some left I believe) would have been a boost. I am pretty sure she is smart enough to tone it down a bit for the convention itself. Maybe singing the national anthem like she did at the Nascar race a few years ago....maybe if she pulled out that hot leather suit too :-P

I agree with you. Britney could have done a speech or introduction, all in good taste, and it probably would have benefitted the RNC. Now the headline will turn off some young voters.
