I enjoy this forum, but lately I've noticed a troubling tendency for posters here to descend into horrible and immature name-calling. Such name-calling, and extremism without reason does nothing but harm our cause. It turns off casual lurkers and readers of this forum. It provides fodder for this forum to be demonized and non-respected elsewhere. Below I provide a few examples. I call on Freepers to stop using such terms voluntarily. If that doesn't work, I call on the moderators to warn, if not censor, posters who use such terms. I realize that Democratic Underground uses even more ridiculous terms sometimes. However, your opponents' choice to frolack in waste does not provide an excuse to do likewise. Rather, it provides an opportunity to rise above, and show one's intellectual and moral superiority. Without more, I present a few examples of the type of garbage I'm talking about. I call on fellow posters to add their own.
1) "Hitlery" -- I dislike Hillary Clinton's politics, and what I know of her personality. However, nothing she has said or done (including her love-fest with Suha Arafat) justifies comparing her to one of the worst monsters in all history. Doing so not only demeans the Holocaust, and all the war dead of WWII, it makes a mockery of this forum to allow it to be posted.
2) "Demorat" -- This is just stupid. Calling your opponent a rodent does nothing to promote conservatism or libertarianism. It does everything to make posters and this forum look like intellectual infants, prone to tantrums and incapable of rational debate. We disagree with Democrats. We should not dehumanize them, or think them so below us that we need not engage them in debate and triumph.
3) "McInsane" & etc. -- John McCain is a conservative, loyal Republican. Indeed, in some areas -- such as controlling spending -- he's far more conservative then Bush. However, he is also a mavarick who doesn't tow the party line -- and, in my opinion, sometimes perhaps puts his principles below his desire to win applauds from the media. That being said, his ACU rating is strong, and he has put legitimate personal disagreements with Bush behind him to support what's best for his party -- and, more importantly -- his country. Feel free to critique McCain. Feel free to disagree with him when he criticizes fellow Republicans or takes an odd liberal stand. However, do not resort to petty name-calling -- especially not name calling that implies he lacks mental faculties, and/or is evil. It's just not right.
So I have written. I hope that a silent majority of Freepers agree with me here.

Shrillery was fast at work on a medical plan which would have gone far toward enslaving USA citizens with a globalist bureaucracy and ID system to rival Hitler and all the other despots of history. It is coming as The Bible indicates. But she was doing her best to rush it--and STILL IS.
Sometimes, I think your point is well taken.
But mostly, it's good fun and venting for people who'd prefer to avoid doing anything illegal or violent.
Any lurkers worth being concerned about are likely to understand the construct of venting as well as the one of hyperbole.
Besides--lurkers here can probably understand our perspective that such idiots have WELL EARNED any negative epithet we hurl at them. They have, after all, been deploying feces all over our Republic and all over patriotic citizens for many long years.
Let em squeal if they get a few smelly things thrown BACK at them. We hereon are just not inclined to allow them to keep piling the sh*t on without throwing it off--preferably in their direction.

DIMRAT works well in many contexts.
People occasionally squeal about "sophomoric" and "loses credibility"
but doesn't bother me much. Who knows, perhaps freaked-out vocabulary will cause someone occasionally to wonder

I didn't see the whole show, as I was surfing between FNC and CSPAN, and decided to go to FNC for a bit because there was a "break in the action" so to speak, going on at the GOP Convention. It just so happend PJB was being interviewed on O'Reilly, and I had the same feeling. I thought for sure there had to be someone else to talk to, but, I guess PJB has a damn book to shill (anti-Bush no less), so that had to be the focal point of this supposed interview.
I think SKERRY is quite apt, as well.

I suspect 50 years from now there will be as many women named Hillary as today there are men named 'Adolf'. I guess the real insulting name will be that identifying the wretched original.
The whole Convention tonight was very moving!! From the speeches to the music. Everything about it was great.

The good news about pat's book: it had dropped in price almost 30% in the first three days it was out. I guess they were trying to entice people to buy it.
If they would print it on two ply and make it comparably prices to other toilet paper it might be moving more.

She cares not one twit worth of however many millions it takes to 'cleanse the world' from 'too large a population.' Who knows if the much discussed globalist plans to reduce the world population by 2/3rds are accurate or not. BUT SUCH PLANS WOULD BE WELL IN KEEPING WITH THE EFFORTS TO REMOVE ENEMIES of her philosophical heros.
And if you think SHRILLERY'S keeping of the FBI files on her enemy list was in order to add them and their needs to her prayer list, then, sir/madam, it would appear that you are the one more than a few bricks short of a load.
