Protester has kicked a police officer off of his scooter outside of Madison Square Garden. Officer is in critical condition.

Thank you. I saw that about the injury as I read through the thread, may the officer be well and recover fully. The NYPD has been doing such a great job. I hope they keep their cool and only get in a few blows when justified. This would seem to qualify.

good point - the RNC should call him on it right away tomorrow - "Kerry, call off your dogs, they have injured a police officer". Ron Kuby will likely represent the perp, I hope he does - so they can kick him out of wabc.

Serious is better than critical obviously. But - with a serious head injury I imagine there could be long-term problems. I'm no doctor - but bad head/neck aches, impaired vision or hearing, lack of concentration? Just a few things that can take this stupid violent act and ruin a guy's career ... and perhaps his family life.
