Yikes. I have an ex-girlfriend who lives there.
Well, I hope the rest of you are safe.

It's nasty out there. Took me three hours to get home from downtown.
100,000 without power in Richmond City itself.
C'mon Richmond Freepers, keep your heads above water! We're with you!
Gaston is doing to Richmond what Allison did to Houston. A stalled out tropical storm can be more deadly than a hurricane.
Chesterfield County is going to be a mess tomorrow...
Was out that way a month ago. You could smell the humidity from the ground. Like a rain forest. Rain, rain, and more rain. God bless and keep the citizens of that fine state safe.

I live just west of 195 and two neighbors report two to three feet of water in their basements. My B-Dry system backed up for about 1 and 3/4 hours, but I am winning the battle and the floor is almost dry. Downtown is called Shokoe (pebble) Bottom and was hit very hard; some folks are still trapped down there. Finally, a Dam south of town is on the verge of giving way. Big night here in River City.

Been trying to reach daughters caught in tornadoes and floods of Hurricane Gaston in Richmond VA... Both are safe, but one was caught in her car in deep water and barely managed to get out. It took her 2.5 hours to go 10 miles (normal driving) to a friend's house by back roads and in a big circle. She couldn't get home. Other daughter safe at home. No phones, no power, etc. Cell phones weren't working for a long time...they finally got through to me. Whew! I was a worried Mom, that's for sure.
