Did CNN leak this Bob Dole footage on purpose? Is it doctored?

Particularly salient, Democrats believe, is the 2000 campaign conducted against John McCain during the South Carolina primary.

Go to the link to see the clip... it "appears" to be pretty damning but I there is obviously more to it, I would not put it past the original Clinton News Network to have doctored this footage.

It would be just like CNN and the Left Media to release this right before the media, or should I say perhaps 'create' this.

how is it damning - when Dole says Kerry is a sniveling little coward who never bled, you can take his word for it.. since, if you believe this article, he's not a big fan of Bush.

I'm pretty sure the video wasn't doctored, but there may have been more from Dole that was cut out. I suspect Dole was going to say that McCain was right to be upset, but I suspect there was a qualifier.

I don't understand why you think I'm a troll... i just want to discuss this 'leaked' footage. i said it appeared 'damning' because dole (if he actually said it) agrees that Bush used 'smear' tactics against McCain in 2000. That's all I said. no more, no less.

Yeah right! How does Slate get off-air footage from CNN? Was there a loose feed? This just smells to high heaven. They'll play it. Dole will refute it, but the lie will just keep traveling along in Dem talking points.

Doesn't matter if this is true or not. If CNN didn't air it, no one can use it except sleazy outfits like Slate. Unless Dole confirms that he said it in context, this will go nowhere. Plus Dole has appeared on Fox and MSNBC where he punished Kerry and supported Bush.

McCain was justified to be upset, and if the clip Wolf Blitzer was allowed to continue, you would have seen George W. Bush say to McCain that the fringe group of veterans did not speak for him and that he didn't appreciate what they said about his father either. Then GWB pulled out an advertisement that was being placed on windshields in South Carolina that was the same type of personal attacks John McCain was calling for an end to. John McCain tried to say he was not responsible for the Ad and George W. Bush said "That's funny, The flyer says "PAID FOR BY JOHN McCAIN"

I remember that exchange like it was yesterday, GWB blew McCain out of the water by exposing his duplicity
