"For Shame" A leaked video reveals what Bob Dole really thinks about Bush's tactics. By Chris Suellentrop For pretty much the duration of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth controversy, the Kerry campaign has been trying to demonstrate that the smear campaign being conducted against the Democratic presidential nominee is all the more loathsome because it is part of a pattern of behavior by George W. Bush: the use of front groups to damage his campaign opponents by putting false statements into the political bloodstream. Particularly salient, Democrats believe, is the 2000 campaign conducted against John McCain during the South Carolina primary.

It would be just like CNN and the Left Media to release this right before the media, or should I say perhaps 'create' this.
how is it damning - when Dole says Kerry is a sniveling little coward who never bled, you can take his word for it.. since, if you believe this article, he's not a big fan of Bush.
p.s. you're a troll. no more, no less.
I'm pretty sure the video wasn't doctored, but there may have been more from Dole that was cut out. I suspect Dole was going to say that McCain was right to be upset, but I suspect there was a qualifier.
I don't understand why you think I'm a troll... i just want to discuss this 'leaked' footage. i said it appeared 'damning' because dole (if he actually said it) agrees that Bush used 'smear' tactics against McCain in 2000. That's all I said. no more, no less.
you've got to try much harder. this was a dead giveaway for your trollness:

Yeah right! How does Slate get off-air footage from CNN? Was there a loose feed? This just smells to high heaven. They'll play it. Dole will refute it, but the lie will just keep traveling along in Dem talking points.
Doesn't matter if this is true or not. If CNN didn't air it, no one can use it except sleazy outfits like Slate. Unless Dole confirms that he said it in context, this will go nowhere. Plus Dole has appeared on Fox and MSNBC where he punished Kerry and supported Bush.
I remember that exchange like it was yesterday, GWB blew McCain out of the water by exposing his duplicity
so i am pro-life? i don't get it. maybe you need some sleep.
Umm that isn't what Dole said on that clip .. he said "I saw it"
"You should be ashamed" is what McCain said to Bush in 2000 during the debate.
Sheesh, give us a break from all the knee-jerk withchunt cries of "troll".

I can smell a troll a mile away.
I'm right. Even the troll knows I am right! (he just won't admit it)
I know .. but that isn't what Slate is reporting in that article
Do you know how silly that sounds?
If I was a troll, OF COURSE I'd know you were right and if I was a troll, OF COURSE I wouldn't admit it.
Can we please get back to discussing the issues and I promise you can out me when I start talking about how you should vote for Kerry. (joke!)
You are right, they definitely run the quotes together don't they! That didn't really jump out at me until now.
