Novak on Kerry’s first Purple Heart
CNN's Crossfire | 8/26/04 | Bob Novak

Posted on 08/26/2004 1:58:18 PM PDT by YankeeFan

Watching Crossfire on CNN.

Novak implied that one of the two men on the boat with Kerry during his first Purple Heart will come forward to contradict Kerry’s story.

He wouldn’t tell Carville the name of the person, but said it would come out soon.

Should be fun.

'Main Stream (or slime) Media.

It has become so passe in this election cycle, for some time "MWDP" has been used to describe them.

MWDP oh, that is the "Media Wing Democrat Party"'

- - - - - -
should now be called "Old Media"

October Suprise...

'Fraid so....but it'll be on us.

The other side is a hell of a lot better in the mud than we are. Frist has probably never had a cavity, let alone blood on his teeth, which is what's required right now.

Where is Terrible Terry McAwfull in all of this. Has he vanished? Gone on a long cruise with Rosie? Checking out the many moons of Saturn?

Where is Terry McAwful?

By now, the supporters of Kerry must feel like Custer. Totally surrounded and no one wants to raise their head for a target.

LOL LOL LOL LOL Couldn't happen to a better bunch of liars. Hope some of this splashes back onto both Clintoons.

The MSM will execute the coup de grace and claim all the credit, since no credit can be allowed by the MSM to go to the Swift Vets... that would put the MSM in a passive, foolish looking light, rather than the knights in shining armor and protectors of the common good which they know themselves to be.

In the aftermath, they will trash both Kerry and the Swift Vets in one breath... while taking on the new tasks of paving the way for Edwards in 2004 and Hillary in 2008.

so they can have Hillary come in to save the day

I don't think Hillary saves a darn thing, IF she agrees to come in.

She gets alot of attention up to Nov 2. Dems get to spend obscene amounts of money on new advertising-bumper stickers, etc. (great for the economy). Then she gets positively bulldozed on Nov 2 and ruins her chances for 2008.

Noooo- I think if they dump Kerry, Hillary is not in the picture. so, Freepers, start guessing who you expect to be the second person on the ticket if Kerry gets to bite on the poison pill. Go for it- even Jesse Jackson isn't off limits.

The only other person on the Boston Whaler was Rear Admiral William Schachte.

Since he is not referred to as "retired" he must still be on active duty.

Maybe he doesn't want to or is unable get involved in this dispute.

From p.36 "Unfit For Command" (First Purple Heart).

"The truth is that at the time of this incident Kerry was an officer in command (OinC) under training, aboard the skimmer using the call sign 'Robin' on the operation, with now-Rear Admiral William Schachte using the call sign 'Batman,' who was also on the skimmer. After Kerry's M-16 jammed, Kerry picked up an M-79 grenade launcher and fired a grenade too close, causing a tiny piece of shrapnelel (one to two centimeters) to barely stick in his arm. Schachte berated Kerry for almost putting someone's eye out. There was no hostile fire of any kind, nor did Kerry on the way back mention to PCF OinC Mike Voss, who commanded the PCF that had towed the skimmer, that he was wounded. There was no report of any hostile fire that day (as would be required), nor do the records at Cam Ranh Bay reveal any such hostile fire. No other records reflect any hostile fire. There is also no casualty report, as would have been required had there actually been a casualty."

sKerry has repeatedly stated that this was the scariest night of his life.""

Kerry is probably going to have to rephrase that statement by Nov 5. I think he is going to have escalating scary mights - alot of them- between now and Nov 2.

Kerry has built a house of cards, with his crafting of mission reports he counted on as the foundation of his run for the White House. Who could have thought in Viet Nam era there would be an internet in 2004?

Who could have invisioned that so many vets would still be alive and still smarting from how they were treated coming home from that war? Who could have thought that the common working man would stand up to the elite Boston high bred blue blood?

This man isn't Kennedy. This man has been a fraud for so many long years he doesn't have a clue why the citizens aren't buying his garbage any more.

BTW- Someone has to explain to me where Kerry's Boston accent went between his testifying to Congress in early 70's and today. I had a hard time listening to him with the old testimony because my ears and eyes couldn't work together watching the video clip. Help please....

One of the issues is that Republicans, and Conservatives in particular, seem reluctant to stand up and be counted. That is not meant to be a slight, just that you don't see us demonstrating like the left does.
We have jobs...""

We will stand up and be counted on Nov 2. Big time.

Excellent point. If Algore wouldn't have invented the internet, Quick John would not be having such a bad time right now.

However Quick John's arrogance is to blame. He moronically published "Tour of Duty" but should have known that most surviving Swifties would read it. I'm sure he thought that his lies to date had succeeded, so he wasn't worried. It's so cool to have watched him paint himself into a corner and try to wriggle out while torpedo after torpedo strike home.

Maybe the popular James Carville could return to LA and file as the Democrat choice for the Rodney Alexander House seat. He would probably win only along the MS River (Faulkner-like) country though.

Swift boat's hits
By Donald Lambro

"... Many Democrats fear he waited too long to respond to the barrage of attacks from the Swift boat Vietnam veterans ...

"'The ads have been running very strong in this state, which has a high population of veterans,' said West Virginia Democratic Chairman Mike Callaghan, who thinks Mr. Kerry waited too long to answer them. 'If I were Kerry, I would have responded sooner,' Mr. Callaghan told me. 'It has had an impact.'

"Other Democratic officials around the country, privately and publicly, agreed.

"In Wisconsin, for example, another state where Swift Boat Veterans for Truth has run ads, top Democratic officials no longer make any pretense the state (which Al Gore carried in 2000) remains in Mr. Kerry's column.

"With Mr. Kerry defensively backing away from one of his major Vietnam War stories and switching positions on national security issues from week to week, it is no surprise Democrats are getting jittery about his campaign. 'There's a lot of nervousness about how close it is, a lot of nervousness,' Iowa Democratic Party Chairman Gordon Fischer told me."
