The Democrat problem with the war on Terror.

The reason the Democrats have a problem with the war on terror is because they mainstreamed all the leftist terrorists of the late 60's and 70's.

The Weather underground, the SDS, the Black Panthers, the SLA, VVaW are all mainstream democrats.

They are still defending terrorists and claiming they are political prisoners. Look at the free Mumia movement. Clinton pardoned the Peurto Rican Terrorists.

They can't condemn them, they can't do anything about them because they are them.

The new incarnation is the ANSWER, WTO protesters, PLO, PLA, and Ecco Terrorists.

I'm sure lots more can be added to this list..

Start adding to the list just from your recollections about former terrorists/terrorist organizations that are now part of the mainstream in the Democrat Party.

That is correct. It is impossible to get outside the system. The system incorporates everything including dissent of itself. Marcuse explained all this. We are one-dimensional.

Republicans might consider adopting OBL and Sadr and the Wahabbis and maybe Shining Path. Iran would scream, so would China, so what's new.

Wow! Marcuse on FR. But to paraphrase Yossarian in Catch22, "that's some system, that American system".
