Some GOP'ers have a message for Britney Spears: Stay home.
The belly baring pop star is being courted to attend the Republican in New York next week, according to the Chicago Sun Times, and that has sparked outrage among some conservative groups.
'Through her immature antics, Ms. Spears has probably done more to undermine sexual morality than all of the misguided legislation introduced in the United States over the past decade,' the Illinois Family Institute wrote in an e-mail to members.
'It would be the height of hypocrisy for a party that claims to represent wholesome values to celebrate her.'
Citing Spears lesbian smooch with Madonna, her 'general immodesty,' and her annulled 56 hour marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas, the group is urging Republicans to call the GOP convention hotline to protest any appearance by Spears.
The IFI isnt the only conservative group that wants Britney to stay away from the GOP convention.
'I do hope she won't be there,' Andrea Lafferty of the Traditional Values Coalition tells the scoop.

I'll take the martini, but golf is a bore, thanks.
Read post #8.
Glad the Republican party has become so popular we can pick and choose who we want to be associated with.
Not so glad that some party members are willing to refuse support from so-call RINO's, pop stars, folks who don't toe the line on abortion and those nasty homo's.
The Republican party's hard right need to move into the 21st
century. Times ain't going back to the day of the chastity
belt.
My vote is still with Bo Derek & Rachel Welsh.
The republicans already have Alice Cooper. That's enough.
You don't need someone, you need to have a set of powerful ideas and present them truthfully. The truth is that the anti-statist ideas behind conservatism are the only real revolutionary ideas out there. Springsteen, and the rest of these entertainers are frauds, court jesters for the established order. What President Bush needs to do is get at the forefront of the revolution, proclaim his belief in liberty as a truly revolutionary idea. He must also speak of liberty in terms of personal liberation as well as economic and political emancipation.
I've written about this at length:
The Real Counterculture
The Democrats: They're No Fun Anymore
With the right ideas in place and presented accurately, being "cool" will follow. Nothing is less "cool" than posing at being "cool" - the Republicans are in danger of this.
Regards, Ivan
I'm assuming you mean Raquel Welch.
Agreed, but I wouldnt be opposed to a little Jessica Simpson brighting up the day if they can find a way to bus her in..
If you think a cross-dressing, needle-stuck walking corpse like Alice Cooper is "cool," I can't understand why you'd object to Britney Spears appearing at the RNC. Spears is much easier on the eyes than Alice flippin' Cooper, don't you think?
Time will tell..
I think Cooper has the right perspective: ""If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal."
For the reasons given by Cooper, we don't need Alice Cooper and we don't need Britney Spears. Only morons need people like that in order to decide how to vote. Is the republican party willing to compromise their principles in order to attract the moron vote?
I always thought that morons voted democrat by default.
I agree and would much rather see someone really talented like Martina McBride, yet I do see a point in putting someone like Spears up to get more people tuned in. I just hope they don't give her a real mic and just let her lip sync as usual, shake her $$ maker for the horny 40 yr old men and leave the building.
Hopefully someone will explain to Spears that a Presidential Convention is NOT the place to pull a Janet or try and suck face with the closest female.
Very true, but very idealistic. We don't live in an idealistic world. The choice is clear . . . do we play "the game" and have a strong chance of re-electing President Bush? Or do we thumb our noses at those who don't pay attention and elect John Kerry? I, for one, am willing to sacrifice a little ego to ensure we aren't stuck with "President Kerry" for four years!
No kidding.
The world won't end if Britney Spears shows up - or if she has shown a little skin in the past.
I can sympathize. But, I have to tell you . . . there is a whole generation of voters out there that hear the name "Bo Derek" and think it's referring to what some southern belle calls her boyfriend, who plays 2nd Base for the Yankees!
And, I think I may have to do some research here. I'm 27 years old, and I don't think I've ever heard of Rachel Welsh. (You don't mean Raquel Welch, do you?)
Wow, talk about exageration.
