Some GOP'ers have a message for Britney Spears: Stay home.
The belly baring pop star is being courted to attend the Republican in New York next week, according to the Chicago Sun Times, and that has sparked outrage among some conservative groups.
'Through her immature antics, Ms. Spears has probably done more to undermine sexual morality than all of the misguided legislation introduced in the United States over the past decade,' the Illinois Family Institute wrote in an e-mail to members.
'It would be the height of hypocrisy for a party that claims to represent wholesome values to celebrate her.'
Citing Spears lesbian smooch with Madonna, her 'general immodesty,' and her annulled 56 hour marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas, the group is urging Republicans to call the GOP convention hotline to protest any appearance by Spears.
The IFI isnt the only conservative group that wants Britney to stay away from the GOP convention.
'I do hope she won't be there,' Andrea Lafferty of the Traditional Values Coalition tells the scoop.

?? I haven't seen Kid's name among any of the released lists of entertainers.
You'd think they would be too busy fighting with the Log Cabin Republicans to care about Britney.
Shannen Doherty?
I thought Kid had been confirmed..(perhaps at one of the parties?)
Do these people not get the point of a party convention in the modern era? The only people interested in the platform are the delegates (and only about half of them!). The modern convention serves as a way to have the nominee appeal to swing voters!
Now, where there are some legitimate moderate swing voters out there, the majority of them are that way because they are ill-informed about the candidates, parties, issues, etc. In the age of 24-hour cable news, the internet, and various other means of information, they are not ill-informed because they can't find the information. They are ill-informed because they don't care. These are the people that watch the E! Network and VH-1, not C-Span! They know Ben Affleck, not Ben Nighthorse Campbell. They know Fred Durst, not Fred Thompson. They know Jay-Z, not J.C.!!
The only way to appeal to these people is to make it look "cool" to be supportive of President Bush and Republicans. Hollywood has done enough damage to that image over the past 4 years. We need someone who can reverse that trend. And, no matter how talented he is, Michael W. Smith can't exactly bridge into that crowd. Britney Spears is the perfect person to appeal to them. She's young, attractive, well-known, and for the most part a reasonable person (yeah, yeah she's sowing her wild oats, but she can't hold a candle to Madonna, Janet Jackson or any of her other "peers"!). Trust me, there would be people tune in that night just to see Britney Spears. And, if you can get them on the station, who knows, they just might stay a little bit and learn something!
Sorry but Britney Spears image is not the kind of image the Republicans should embrace. She can't sing, and she is a visual slut bag with no brains and no morals. If that is the type of image the republicans need to use to get votes, then they are going to lose mine.
Not a major concern, but the unstable airhead really doesn't belong at the convention. Just because she's liable to say or do something really stupid.
Well said, and Shannen Doherty aint gettin any younger..we need some new young stars like Adam Sandler and Sarah Michelle Gallar to step forward instead of hiding in the closet.
Yeah...but she is a "slutbag" that is hot as hell......Hot Women is not a bad image for a political party.....
Well, if that's the kind of Republican you are . . . see ya!
A person with a clue. Well done.
lol, Or maybe it is just me getting older!
Nah they're going for the middle aged viagr pill popper vote.
she's still a smokin' hot babe, even though she ain't as young as she used to be (but who is?)
Brains, beauty, bad attitude... what's not to love?!
