So then a largish envelope comes in the mail and it's from my mother and it contains a single, well-used comic book sealed in a plastic Zip-Loc bag, a book from my childhood she found in a storage box in the garage in our family's cabin getaway up in northern Idaho.
And my mother, being smart and attuned and with the times as she is, she noticed the comic's title, and the main characters, and her eyebrows went up and she thought I might want to see it.
Here's why: It's a Spider-Man comic. It's from 1976. It's in excellent condition. And it features none other than Doctor Octopus as the villain. So, you know, wow.
And immediately you take a look at that cover and your postlapsarian brain kicks in and the entrepreneurial lights go on and you're all like, whoa, Spider-Man, massive multigazillion-dollar blockbuster, big resurgence of interest, and it's a Doc Ock comic, no less (the good doc, in case you live under a rock, is the villain in the much-hyped "Spider-Man" sequel). And you're like, well well well.

The last sentence in the article really didn't need to be there.

To slide into irrelevancy, you had to be relevant in the first place.

It is beyond me why anyone would post on this forum anything this piece of dog squeeze writes. It's not as if we didn't already know his opinion and didn't care anyway.

I wonder if Doc Ock is a creation of a homosexual writer. Slide the third letter over to the beginning of the second word and see if you see what I see. Seems like a homosexual invitation to me.

Never lead or close your article with a question that can be answered with a 'Yes' or 'No.'

A 1976 reprint series with yellowing pages and a loose cover... I would guess it is worth between bupkis and squat, depending on whom you sell it to... childhood memories aside.

What?!? No references to "BushCo"? Miss Morford is slipping in her old age.

Morford has a mother? Who'd have guessed? I thought he had two fathers. Two mothers? Is his real name "Heather"?
