Fox now saying that both crashed. Witnesses saw an explosion before one crashed. Update at the top of the hour.

This is NOT fuel contamination. A/C experiencing fuel contamination would glide down from cruising altitude. Tehy would have plenty of time (>12 minutes) to make radio calls, find closest airport, etc., set the radar transponder to the emergency 7700 code, etc.
An aircraft at cruise speed/altitude losing all engine power can glide to anywhere within a 150 mile diameter circle. Plenty of places to land. Plenty of time to talk to air route traffic control centers, etc.
Air Canada lost all engines on a 767. Put it down on a drag strip. No problems.

9/9/01 was the assassination of Ahmed Shah Massood, followed shortly thereafter by the events of 9/11. A seemingly unrelated act that was actually the first phase of an offensive.
Until we know more, I'll be a little on edge.
