Both planes were Tupolev Tu-154 jets, a medium-range airliner.

Those Tupolev's fall out of the sky with alarming regularity, but two at the same time. I dunno about that one.

The Ukranian's just settled witht the victims of the Tupolev 154's they shot down over the Black Sea in 2000. Remember that?

ok I am now reading that bad fuel can do this....it would certainly account for #2. Are there any other mechanical issues what could plausibly cause 2 planes to go down in order?

Moscow bus stop explosion caused by bomb

MOSCOW, August 24 (Itar-Tass) - There is preliminary information that the explosion at a Moscow bus stop resulted from a bomb equivalent to 100-200 grams TNT, a city police source told Itar-Tass.


Four people hurt in a Tuesday explosion at a Moscow bus stop were taken to the 7th city hospital and the Sklifosofsky Medical Emergency Institute, a source in the Moscow health department told Itar-Tass.


He said two sufferers had been moved to the intensive care unit.


Three sufferers are in the 7th city hospital, and one, a 21-year-old man, is in the Sklifosofsky Institute.

It would take more than 10 minutes to crash due to bad fuel. Poof, two gone in four minutes. No mayday. Bombs. Or, as some wags here suggest, two simultaneous center fuel tank explosions ;-).

Well unfortunately he is wrong, FoxNews is NOT reporting they were shot down according to there press release.

He did not post a news release, he said he heard it that way.

I was sitting right in front to the tv, watching Fox when they broke in for the alert.

I did not hear them say shot down. They said one crashed and one was missing.
