Is it as long as they don't mention the name of a candidate? Again I may be wrong. I thought they could do anything as long as they were completely independent of the campaign.

I thought the 529's couldn't do ads that late. I think this is bogus. IIRC Cannot mention name under 30 days before General Election.
October surprise is code for late (9-15 and beyond).

Rumor has it, that the Dems have info about some Bush DUI. Be afraid...be very afraid!!!
OOH, scary. < /sarcasm >
Unless he got loaded and crashed the presidential limo, he's been innoculated to that sort of trash. They did that in 2000 when people didn't know him as well. The past 4 years will determine the fate of President Bush's reelection not events of 30 years ago.

Again?
I need to stop watching South Park!

The law probably does not cover press releases or a news conference.
Go on tv or radio with the story.
There are always ways around lawyers.

My apologies. I hope to soon figure out how to find things like that with the search engine.

Does this site exist and can someone supply a video or picture?

I still think the one month moratorum on 527 ads applies...
...unless you are advertising something like, say, a book?

I think College Savings Plans can run ads whenever they want...(wink)

I agree. and take it up later closer to the election.Right now the focus should be on shadowing all these lawyers who are being paid to harass Veterans for speaking their mind. There is a whole story here of intimidation and money and it stinks from the very bowels of Edwards/Kerry money from their 527s.

"I thought the 529's couldn't do ads that late. I think this is bogus." 527s that are funded by labor unions or corporations ARE limited, but those 527s that are funded by individuals (as the SwiftVets' are) may run advertising right up to the election.
