And, true to what has happened in the last 30 years, the drug trade has fueled the conflict in Colombia, both in the Communist left (FARC and ELN) and the right (AUC).

Sometimes I think the only way to end the war in Colombia would be to legalize cocaine and other stuff, but that's just my crazy self talking.

Guess it's been too many years since we saved everybodys butts in WWI & WWII. But you'd think they'd at least remember "American Imperialism" being responsible for the Berlin Wall coming down. I had neighbors, as a kid, who fled Berlin and their wall. They were paying .50 cents for one egg in the 60's. Their memories were certainly intact. The Pfortners fled to the US to experience some of that fine Imperialism.
