My favorite dessert is one I'll never have again. It was my late grandma's apple pie. I've tried to duplicate the recipe, but it just doesn't taste the same.

One that I make, and is a family favorite is a Fruit Pizza. Recipe for that one provided on request....:)

Ummm, fruit pizza. I would love to have that one. I, in return, can provide, as desired, the most incredible brownies on earth, an amazing cake called Japanese Fruit Cake (no explanation for the Japanese reference, and it is a true layer cake, not Christmas type fruit cake) that has a cream cheese frosting, and a Christmas cookie recipie which is basically butter held together by powdered sugar with nuts and butterscotch chips, frosted with a rum glaze that WILL make you drunk. This last one is not for children. (Can you tell I love to bake?)

Is that the kind that has a sugar cookie crust, sweetened cream cheese, and fruit? (My daughter sometimes makes that, but I never have.)

Of all days for a food thread! I'm actually going to try to sleep overnight tonight so I can spend Monday with the grandbabies. School starts on Tuesday. Chances are I'm going to spend time watching the MBABGDITW#2 while my daughter and the older two pick up some last-minute supplies.

LisaM, mine is a distant memory also - never to be had again, I'm afraid. I had a great aunt who made a killer schaum torte with tons of whipped cream and berries. Not the hard meringue shells you find in restaurants, but a soft, wonderful creation with a bit of crunchier meringue crushed on top. Yum!!!
