~ MONDAY FAVORITES ~ This week: What is your favorite dessert? |
|||
In our continuing series about your favorites, we ask this week about food. We chose this topic for the most obvious of reasons--we all like eating. Instead of wasting time eating something nutritious, we skip to dessert. After all, that's the most important part of the meal. So? Post your favorite dessert and a picture on the thread. If you can't reach us via Freepmail, email us at canteenusa@canteenusa.com . By the way, you can put more than one favorite dessert. These things can be hard sometimes. We don't want to stress you. | |||
~ Dessert Exhibit A~ ~ Cookies ~ Don't see your favorite dessert? Post it on the thread. Also, post the recipe if you'd like. (Click pictures for recipes! If you have a better recipe, please share it with everyone!) Chocolate Chip Cookies

I like all of them.
Do the Swedes have Toll House?
I think not.
Swede Girl:
Hey! That's not fair. We have Ikea.
Ed Norton, from "Fight Club":
My spotless, wooden, Ikea-furnished bedroom is my identity. If it weren't for Ikea, why...I'D BE BEREFT OF AN IDENTITY! Phew. Glad I got that off my chest.

[My favorite dessert is Sweet Potato-Pecan Pie.]
YES! Do you have a recipe? I've tried several but am still looking for the ultimate one.
Awestruck.....#50!!
It sounds like your grandmother made the cobbler the way I like it....with the pie crust strips on the bottom and also the pie crust is crunchy on top of the syrupy peaches. The drop biscuit recipes are too dry. I will experiment someday and use the freestone peaches!
That cherry chocolate cake sounds great. I have printed it out for the future. I have gained 5 lbs just reading all of these great recipes!
Stag.....#100!!
[Yummm. Fruitcake.[
Have you ever had the DeLuxe from Corsicana, TX.? It's about the most perfect fruitcake in the world, IMO. I order a big one every fall & often another one before Christmas, sprinkle it several times w/Irish Whiskey (too moist to douse but the flavor does penetrate in a few days). Eat it/them all by myself.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your dog. I do not know how anyone could live through the loss of a child. Losing my Brittany was bad enough.
They have a love like no other being can. They are never angry with you, and always happy to see you.
Let yourself grieve for as long as it takes, Be kind to yourself.
You will know when it is time to think about another dog.
After the ache of my loss settled down to a chronic longing instead of raw sorrow, I found I still had room for love.
I adopted a couple of orphans.
They have brought me love but I still miss my girl. I always will. Now when I think of her, I think of how happy she made me and how blessed I was to share 14 years with her...
Healing will come but it takes time.
It may be silly but I tell my girls to say their little doggy prayers when we go to bed. I'll tell them tonight to add Ms. Behaving to their prayer list.
I believe that dogs are one of the ways God shows us that he loves us. Why else would He create something so wonderful for us to have in our lives.
redrock
I just want to say to everybody, keep up the prayers over our troops. We adopted a soldier, and he told me today, a mortar landed very close to him, but did not go off. I was in tears when he told me this. Oh these brave men, I can't imagine.
Theres power in prayer.
Gag - are you kidding me?
Never tried theirs. My Mom makes a batch of my Grandma's recipe, and sends them out to all us kids every Christmas. Luckily, I'm the only one at my house that likes it. All the store-bought ones I've tried have cheap citron instead of the nice candied fruits my Mom uses. And they usually garnish the top with about 3 pecans, instead of putting plenty of almonds and pecans into the cake. Besides, Mom's fruitcake comes wrapped in a fancy towel, accompanied by 3 or 4 kinds of cookies, homemade jams and jellies, and a new ornament for my tree. Can't beat that!
I love pizzelle and the rest! I have a pizzelle maker.. love dusting them with some powdered sugar. I recently bought a wooden pizzelle cone so I can roll them into mini cones for my daughters while they're still hot from the iron.
Hi, writer! I love carrot cake. And thanks for your service to America.
