A would-be carjacker bit off more than he could chew Thursday.
About 9:45 p.m., a Columbia woman was at a stoplight in the 7200 block of Two Notch Road when she was approached by a man wearing a black ski mask, according to a police report.
The man opened the passenger door and grabbed her by the throat with his right hand.
Not a good move, according to a dog inside the vehicle. The canine bit the man on his right arm.
The suspect hit the woman in the face to force the dog to let go, the report said. The man fled the scene and has not been identified.
The attack knocked out four of the dogs teeth, according to the report.
Richland County Sheriffs investigators are looking into the attack.
Poor dog. I hope he gets the best possible canine dental care.
And a rabies shot.
Good for the dog. He did his job. Too bad his owner wasn't packing. For 4 teeth, there ought to be a perp taking a dirt nap somewhere.

My husband always takes his dog with him when he works. Barkley sits in the van guarding his tools. Barkley has the most amazing initial bark, like something out of your worst nightmare. Chased an intruder out of our house once and then was so afraid he wouldn't come out from under the couch the rest the night. LOL
What is wrong with this picture?
I was wondering what he was doing after his basketball career was over.....
Good Barkley.........
Beat me to it.
I re-read the story twice. Methinks the reporter got
things mixed-up.
Journalism students ride the short bus? It's like Babblefish gibberish. There really is a story there. You just have to learn to detect the truth behind the crap that journalists write.

Who in the hell drives around with their car doors unlocked any more?
Heh heh, I thought the reporter was letting us know we were lucky not to have a photo.
It amazes me that people still drive around with their doors unlocked. This gal was lucky she had her trusty dog...
People who are hopeing that someone will attack leave their doors unlocked.
You the man, you the dog!
One of my Jack Russels would do this but he only weighs 15 lbs. (He thinks he is much bigger)
Locking your doors won't stop a determined attacker, but it will slow them down enough to get the M1911A-1 out of hiding.
Puppy Power Ping!
Oregonians are notoriuos for leaving the rig running and running in the store.
First thing us Cali migrants notice, I have been here 15yrs and my neighbor brought it up the other day wondering what are they thinking, or not.
