Great post. This is the type of info that the GOP establishment should be revealing to the general public at every opportunity. An all out effort is needed to expose the people who are backing Kerry and the millions of dollars they've spent to attack the character, integrity and credibility of the President. When presented with the facts, most Americans are very capable of understanding the difference between expenditures of $65 million against Bush versus $500K against Kerry.

The implications are marvelous.
The Swift-vets get More Bang for Thier Bucks!
It is more affordable to tell the truth than pay for a lie.

I found the name I was looking for:
Harold Ickes.
bump!!
Perhaps something good will come out of this 527 controversy. CFR will be rescinded, McCain-Feingold and the SCOTUS be darned! (wishful thinking?)
That website, http://www.opensecrets.org, is a real jewel.
You can even put in a zip code and find out who is giving to whom right in your home area. (100% Republican here in my remote corner of the northeast Texas Piney Woods...)
IMHO, http://www.opensecrets.org should be a required bookmark for every FReeper who is interested in serious activism...
HAROLD ICKES!!!!!!
Wonderful job!
It bugs me the most that those on our side who are all over the TV screen making silly arguments do not emphasize the huge disparity in funding of the Swift vets and MoveOn.
Occasionally there is a vague reference to Soros, but no specifics.
I want to hear them say, as of August 15, 2004:
Swift Boat Veterans for Truth had Total Receipts: $158,750 and Total Expenditures: $60,403.
MoveOn.org had Total Receipts: $9,086,102 and Total Expenditures: $17,435,782.
A Web page misconfiguration left dozens of the liberal political group's subscriber pages easily searchable through simple Google queries. Each page included a subscriber's name, e-mail address and the mailing lists to which he or she is subscribed. CNET News.com confirmed that several related searches turned up more than two dozen individual subscriber pages.
"This is extremely disturbing," said one subscriber, when contacted through e-mail. The subscriber asked that his or her name not be used. "I'm not sure if I should be worried or not, but I am," the person said.
The subscriber Web pages linked member's names with interests in various topics, "Distortion of evidence" for one, and, for another, Errol Morris, the director of the documentary "The Fog of War," which won the Oscar for its portrayal of the life of Vietnam era Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara. ***
Zach Exley - former director of special projects at MoveOn, now Kerry's director of online communications
Robert Gibbs - former Kerry campaign press secretary now with Americans for Jobs, Healthcare and Progressive Values
Jim Jordan - former Kerry campaign manager, now with Americans Coming Together and the Media Fund
Rodney Shelton - was with Americans Coming Together, now the Kerry campaign director in Arkansas
Joseph Sandler - MoveOn.org Voter Fund lawyer, general council DNC
Matt Damon - MoveOn donor and best bud with Kerry groupie Ben Affleck. (Hey, that's at least as good at the NYT's chart)
Is he the kook that thinks half the populace is Reptilian aliens, or have I been at the computer too long....
That would be David Icke.
