TO: Republican National Committee Cc: Butler Co. Republican party Ohio Republican Party George W. Bush
Subject: Sitting this one out
As a conservative, I have become increasingly disappointed at the leftward drift of the Republican Party under the leadership of George W. Bush. His monetary and immigration policies are prime examples.
I have come to the conclusion that he is, quite simply, unacceptable. Furthermore, the overall position of the Republican Party is too far to the left to suit me.
The argument that "the other guy is worse" is invalid. There is now such an indiscernible difference between the Republican and Democrat parties that it would make little difference who won the election.
You have not put up a good candidate since Ronald Reagan. I have held my nose and voted in the last three elections, but I can't stomach it any more.
Therefore, this year, I will vote for no Republican candidates at the national, state or local level. If I find an acceptable conservative 3rd party, I will vote for them.
If we lose the election, so be it. My prayer is that a sound drubbing will slap some sense back into the Republican Party.

That said, I won't be staying home this election day, either, but I'm not voting for Coke or Pepsi. I plan on writing in Tom Tancredo, because he is apparently the only man in DC who wants to do something about the national security danger posed by our porous borders, and the economic security problem posed by H-1B visas. Yeah, yeah, I know. You yeller-dawg Pubbies call that wasting my vote. I call voting for sKerry or Bush a choice between death by a bullet to the head, or slow poisoning.
Flame on, yeller-dawgs!

You have some cite for Mr. Reagan's regret? And on this thread it is beside the point. When you say that the GOP has not put up a good candidate since Mr. Reagan and Mr. Reagan did the exact things you complain about in Mr. Bush, you don't know what you are talking about or you are trolling.
I've noticed a few more wrinkles on my face lately and I'm not happy with the way it looks. I think I'll cut off my nose to teach it a lesson.
Elections are about making decisions and it's your responsibility to make one. We choose one candidate over another based on the big picture, not life under a microscope. There is a huge difference between our 2 choices in this election and if you are actually unable to make a choice between them , I would have to believe that you are either not a conservative or you have your head so far in the sand you really, REALLY need to come up for air and have a good look around.
The mindset you are in contributed to 8 years of Bill Clinton for this nation and, in a post 911 America, I sincerely doubt we'll survive 8 years of Kerry.
I knew if I scrolled down far enough someone would post what I was thinking.
You be's the one.
Yeah ... What Lancey said!
"I have held my nose and voted in the last three elections..."
There is a minor but substantial difference between holding one's nose and actually puking. True, after the vomiting ends, one does feel a measure of relief from nausea, but it is accompanied by serious weakness.

Sorry, I just do not believe you are being truthful. You sound like a dim!

I used to think that letting Kerry get elected would have absolutly no effect on current events. But what with his non-stop lieing, anti-Military, Anti-American, Pro-Frog, Pro-Muslim, Pro-UN(to the point of giving away our rights to these idiots) stance, not to mention his dimwitted Anti-American Wife, I have decided that anyone at this point is better then Kerry.
And the only one able to beat comrad Kerry is Bush. After the election we have to make sure that our elected states representatives stop any Illegal-Alien amnesty or further Liberal bills from ever seeing the light of day from Bush's office. And that means getting ready to start recalling the idiots that do not do what we "The American People" say they should do.
I'll bet you're getting a more favorable response for this over at the Liberty Forum. They are still around, aren't they?
That Newswatcher guy is/was a riot.
I'm afraid you are suffering from delusions of relevance.
Did you vote for Perot too?
I guesss we are supposed to give a rats ass what you do.
Im right with you, and I think there are a ton of us here in Ohio that feel this way. I'm going to vote for Badnarik.
UAVs flying patrol over the border is a half measure at best. What good is spotting them, if we don't have the manpower to catch them, and the backbone to do something to ensure they don't come back in a week or so?
Borders and immigration are the big issues that everyone seems to want to ignore. Its a matter of national and economic security, and we absolutely must get control of them, or 20 years from now, we will no longer resemble the nation my generation was raised to believe we'd inherit.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Then, no offense, but you are an idiot.
Yea, but do you really believe it's working? Kerry is ahead or even in all the polls. If we are in the middle, it ain't happening.
I am increasingly skeptical, and my views are probably not wanted on this forum.
I have answered WHY I will vote for President Bush HERE
Think a little more about it.

The NRA has clout with both major parties and the small parties can emulate their success. I believe the small parties would accomplish more doing this than they do by running a LT 5% candidate and I believe fewer individuals would opt out of the political process all together. Hopefully, the whole process would have a positive influence on the major parties.
