To: Congressional Leadership, RNC Leadership & Members of Congress From: Ed Gillespie Subject: Kerry Campaign as Inside Joke
Responding to the fact that Senator Kerry missed 76% of the of the Senate Intelligence Committee's public hearings, his campaigns senior adviser called the statistic misleading because it represents only public hearings and not the numerous non-public hearings the committee holds. So surely Senator Kerry will authorize the Senate Intelligence Committee to make public his and his running mates record of attendance at non-public hearings, right? Dont bet on it. Their campaign thinks they can cite non-public hearings as discounting a dismal public attendance record with a wink, then refuse to authorize their public release with a nod. The Kerry for President Campaign has taken political cynicism to a new low in this election, openly scoffing at what they consider to be the publics-and the medias-gullibility on issues as important as intelligence funding, national security, peoples jobs, the Federal budget, our nations energy supply and funding for our troops in combat, and even as trivial as home cookin. In a long series of on background and off-the-record comments, campaign officials and advisers have laid bare some remarkable hypocrisy: After stopping at a Wendys fast-food restaurant for a photo-op dinner, the Kerrys retreated to the campaign bus to sup on Shrimp Vindaloo and Diver Deep Sea Scallops, previously ordered from a nearby country club. Days later, after feigning a hankering for some baby back ribs and a vanilla malted from a famed Wisconsin diner, Senator Kerry was found dining on filet mignon at a nearby restaurant. With the winks and nods to reality on background and off the record, the public is left to see only the stage-managed imagery on television and on-the-record comments of the candidate in print, which are explicitly designed to mislead. The Kerry Campaign has become naked in its disdain for the publics ability to discern reality and mocking of the medias traditional role of referee in the political arena, acting as though print reporters and TV news producers are part of some inside joke perpetrated on the voters. Such contempt for the electorate and the media rarely, if ever, succeed. As a great Republican President once said, You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cant fool all the people all the time. Senator Kerrys blatant hypocrisy will not be able to fool the voters in November, nor will he be able to count on reporters to stand inside his campaign looking disdainfully out at the public and laughing at the inside joke instead of outside his campaign looking skeptically in at his promises and asking the tough questions.
John F. Kerry served in Vietnam.
This guy eats like a horse. He must have a hollow leg.
Yes, he did. Now we just need to point out which side he served.
Considering his conduct after he got back home, he wasn't serving our side.
"Such contempt for the electorate and the media rarely, if ever, succeed."

> John F. Kerry served in Vietnam.
Two weeks ago, I would have accepted that at face value.
Now I'm startin' to think: "so did Lt. William Calley"
Nice article.. thanks for posting..
I doubt anyone in the Kennedy family would agree with this statement.
Hmmmp!
He gives the "media" far more credit than they deserve..
I expect the media to stand by Kerry, defending him, lying for him and ignoring his lies ----to the bloody end..
He is THEIR girlyboy....

Kerry is a cartoon. He's half Thurston Howell and half that guy ( I think from the same folks that made that time traveler kid and dog cartoon ) spinning a tall tale about his brave exploits.
Yes! Kerry is an a$$ and unfit for the Presidency, but the media knows it and is covering up important information that the uninformed public depends on them to give. Our current media will lose their footing and their jobs when America wakes up.
I don't know...the media seems to be loving every humiliating minute.
Ed is right about the electorate, thank God.
I hope he keeps up pointing out all of Kerry's problems.

Mr. Peabody!!! He and Sherman, his lawfully adopted boy were honorable sir!
I'll bet you really wanted to say Commander McBragg!
Theme song of course.
This is the World of Commander McBragg
Your hair will curl in the World of McBragg.
He fights monsters galore
And then asks for still more
Or so says the brag of McBragg.
When on the hill the marines plant a flag
They may be led by Commander McBragg.
With a cannon in hand
He can beat any band
Or so says the brag of McBragg.
Fencing and fighting and round table knighting
And slaying of dragons, too.
Shipping and sailing and great harpoon whaling
There's nothing McBragg can't do.
Hunting and trapping and gold miner mapping
And flying to Timbuktu.
Roping and riding and Indian guiding
Commander McBragg comes through.
This is the World of Commander McBragg
Your head will whirl in the World of McBragg.
He can do anything
In his world he's a king
Or so says the brag of McBragg.

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cant fool all the people all the time.
Yeah, but you can usually fool enough folks enough of the time to get elected president once or twice.
Great post.
