I can see the video clip now .... long-jawed fellow testifying about books being burned "reminiscent of" (fill in the blank)....
Anyone have a copy of the memo from Kerry's flacks?
To: hellinahandcart
I still think it HAS to be an exaggeration. Have you already forgotten the letter they sent to the TV stations about the SBVfT ad?

I agree with all those choices. Also, how about:
Banning all Hollywood biographies or autobiographies of nasty, self-centered, anti-American movie "stars".
What else, folk?

I am just LMAO at this "campaign" of John Kerry. I won't even call it a campaign anymore without the scare quotes, because this does not even resemble any kind of professional campaign I have ever seen in my life. George McGovern ran a better campaign than Kerry is running. If we can't beat this Gang Who Couldn't Spin Straight, we don't deserve to run the country anymore.

Where is the Konigratzer March? To paraphrase Prof. Henry Jones, Sr.: "Morons like Kerry should try reading books instead of burning/banning them".
Nazis. I hate these guys.

That looks just like Ol' Horseface on the right!HA!
Yea... pants hiked up to his caved-in chest like an old Italian at a bocce game! Can't see his Gucci loafers though... the one's with the pretty tassles.
All that kite-surfing and bike riding on Nantucket Island has sure taken its toll!
Are those SUV headlights in the background?!

As your pic indicates, it's been tried before. Here's another one...
One way the Nazis cleansed the country of "un-German" thoughts was through censorship. A "brown shirt" (member of the SA) throws some more fuel--"un-German" books-- into a roaring fire on the Opernplatz in Berlin. May 10, 1933.

I got mine from Amazon rather quickly, but I think the demand has been so great, it may be backordered.
You can buy it on ebay, but they're selling for a little more than they would on Amazon.

I told her it's being reported that Borders is pulling the book because of the "lies" and she was startled and is going to check with the manager and call me back.I heard that yesterday on Sean Hannity's show. Pretty scary stuff.
I'm sure that O'Neill and his colleagues are ready for these tactics. The 'lies' charge just won't hunt, since the Swifties have signed affidavits under penalty of perjury, and the rebuttals are not under oath.
This has got to be the stupidest possible tactic the Kerry campaign could choose. Even with the mainstream media in the tank for them. The book will become an underground classic, just as Solzhenitsen's stuff did in the Soviet Union.

They're not calling for a ban. They're asking the publisher to voluntarily withdraw it. Am I the only one who can read?

Anyone calling for a book ban is NOT qualified to be president of the USA, period.
That and the fact he stated yesterday, he wanted President Bush to "shut them up"..
Book banning, and squelching free speech?? oh joy

I don't think Hillary would touch 2004 with a ten-foot pole. She knows it's a losing proposition. She's interested in 2008, when the Republicans don't have an incumbent advantage. Why spend a lot of political capital on an election fight against a strong opponent that isn't likely to be won anyway?
She'll be their nominee in 08. Not this time. Kerry is the sacrificial lamb in 04. They had to run *somebody*. He ain't going to win- Hillary will make certain of that. If he gets some sweet consolation prize after losing the election, like a choice committee appointment, then he was in on it. If he doesn't, then he was exploited by the 'rats because he's an egotist. If Kerry did win in 04, she'd have to wait until 2012. She ain't going to do that.
I'm looking for a rat full-court press in '08, with Hillary leading the charge.

No, no, no...I don't believe it, they couldn't be that stupid. Kerry was always that stoopid.
His handlers weren't, but evidently they can't control him any more.
