DES MOINES, Iowa Jim Rassmann, who credits John Kerry with saving his life while under fire in Vietnam, is countering new commercials challenging the Democratic nominee's war record.
Rassmann, a former Special Forces officer, is in Iowa today. It's his first visit to the state since January when he was reunited with Kerry after more than 30 years.
His visit, which started in Cedar Rapids this morning, comes as another group of Vietnam veterans airs T-V ads accusing Kerry of fabricating his war record.
Rassmann says he has little patience for it and it's starting to be "very irritating."
Understandably. Plan A, everyone throws down his weapons, and surrenders to the War Hero. It appears there was no Plan B.
I have never met a man who was caught in a lie that wasn't irritated.
Defeat, even for cheaters, can be very irritating.
Rassmann: Who are talking to? How dare you question me! I am a Vietnam Vet and you are irritating.
Don't you know that John Kerry saved me and not you?
"Rassmann says he has little patience for it and it's starting to be "very irritating.""
Wow, "very irritating" only words quoted. STRANGE!!!!
Didnt kerry serve in nam and earn 3 purple hearts oh he threw them away
You're making me very angry!!
President Bush and his campaign is not PAYING for them to come forward. Is not paying them a PENNY, FOR ANYTHING! What they are doing, they are doing from their hearts, it is a personal thing, Kerry HURT THEM with his lies, they have a deep caring for all of us in preventing kerry from ever holding our highest office.
Who is paying for this man's way? For his flights? For his hotels? For his meals? For his transportation?
Just wondering.
Wonder which of Rassman's several versions of the pick-up incident that have been questioned is irritating him....?
And perhaps he can tell us how much of Kerry 's blood he saw (from the medal citation "Bleeding from the arm" ) and how it came to be bleeding from a BRUISE ("contusion" - Kerry's medical report) ......
If the Swiftvets are to be believed, Rassman was knocked overboard by a frantic Kerry only to be "saved" by him later. Rassman may not have been able to see a thing, so I give him the benefit that he had no idea what happened.
I do think it's funny that an allegation is that one purple heart is because Kerry misfired and hit a bag of rice which pelted him in his southern quarters.
Has he been promised a job for himself or a family member?
Hmmmmmmmmmm?
These are legitimate questions.
Big W-o-o-o-o Rassman And what are you going to do about it?
Cop talk from a man no longer behind a badge.
Rassman spent a total of TWO days with or near Kerry.
Rassman has told two different stories about that. He was either on Kerry's boat or he was on the one behind it that hit the mine.
I've heard varying accounts from the Swifties, Rassmann and John Kerry's reports. I think Rassmann said at one point that he was a passenger on the first boat that hit the mine (not Kerry's boat) and Kerry said that Rassmann was on Kerry's own boat (or vice-versa?).
I'm noticing how all these folks around Kerry go by their feelings and feel free to make up the facts. When their 'facts' are challenged they respond emotionally and not generally with relevant facts.
Kerry changes his story. For example he went from "Christmas in Cambodia... seared in my conscious" to "four missions in January".
Not only this, but when they are caught in a mistake, they don't admit mistakes. Kerry should have said 'for 30 years I said Christmas in Cambodia, but I was mistaken'. No he just gives us another story.
You begin to wonder when John Kerry's stories on events and facts will end. Not only this, but
Herr Rassmann is Kerry's Reichsekretar für Kultur und Propaganda.
As long as he keeps covering for Kerry without addressing the Swift Vets' charges specifically, he's not going to find any peace, regardless of whether there are TV cameras on them or not.
