New SUSA poll shows CO a dead heat - 47-47 - (this is not good - another 2000 GWB State that is heading toward the toss-up catagory) -
Also new poll out of NV shows GWB up 49-46 -
And 2 other polls out of MI and PA that both show Kerry up by 4pts or more -
MI poll is 46-42 for Kerry (Strategic Vision)
PA poll shows Kerry 47-42 (Quinn) - PA has to now be considered solid Kerry - He has lead in the past 11 straight polls and in 20 of the past 22 polls out of PA -
This is getting late - GWB has to make a move now - an incumbent will not surge late and win - (past Sept 15th)
All these polls can be found on realclearpolitics site .
I too am starting to fear for Bush, but the reason I fear for him is because the media is trying their best to get him ousted. With Michael Moore, Ron Reagan Jr., ABC CBS NBC MSNBC CNN among other all doing their darnest to get Kerry into the White House I just don't see the ground swelling that Bush needs to get back into the White House. Couple that with the anti-Bush fervor among the many muslims and blacks in this country and this all points to Bush having an uphill battle ahead of him. Thing is, he shouldn't be having any sort of an uphill battle with him being the incumbent.
Though we all here know Kerry for the liar and bad leader he is, we all knew the same thing about Clinton and look at how long he served in the White House. If an immoral and unethical person like him can get into the White House, then surely a back-stabbing SOB who called his vietnam war buddies murderers can do it as well.
Re: being suicidal. I don't know if I would go that far. But I will be very afraid for the future of our country. I will also be fearful of curtailments of free speech. These nuts on the left scream that Bush and Ashcroft are nazis trying to stifle dissent. Nonsense. But when the lefties take power I have little doubt they will try to silence the right. Look at what anti Bush protestors are doing around the country. They have no problem using threats and intimidation. Of course the media will let them get away with it too.
Stop this silly panic stuff! Stop it!
Kerry has as much chance of carrying Colorado as Alan Keyes does of winning in Illionis.
Colorado is in the lock category, sleep tight and hope and pray that Kerry wastes time and money in Colorado.
You don't raise interest rates just because an economy is growing! - Productivity is taking care of the inflation threat (of which there is none) - Fuel costs are what is helping cause the slight inflation we have seen (and raising rates won't have any effect on bringing oil prices down!) -
Greenspan is a fool - He is the common denominator of the last 2 U.S. Recessions - both in 1991 and in 2000 Greenspan went on an interest rate hike orgy! -
Report just came out yesterday showing inflation fell! - No need for the rate hike - You do not want to make capital more expensive at this point -
Did you count Dean stickers, too? They'll all vote for Kerry. They'd vote for a turnip if he was the nominee-- just so they can see the look on Bush's face when he loses, should he lose. That's all they care about.
I agree with you here 100% - The only way Kerry wins is because of the media - However, this is why we could not afford to blow it on the 527 issue!! - Rove killed us here! - The DEM's not only have the media the will provide millions and millions of free advertising for Kerry - but now the DEM 527's are outspending us by over $150 + million! -
Yep. Pollsters need jobs, too.
There's a time and a season, and this is what's called "the protest vote." It's easy to get using the right question.
When it gets closer, the real numbers will show up.
Head to Head Bush is a much better person and candidate than Kerry. Voters will remember the two successful wars and notice a strong economy and will vote for Bush. By no means will it be a landslide but he has a strong advantage.
I am not sure what you mean by the anti-Bush Fervor among Muslims. The more they speak out against Bush the better it will be for Bush in middle America.
However, what does concern me is that Jewish voters are going for Kerry 70-30%. I don't think Arab Americans are against Bush in that great of numbers.
One thing IS for sure; very shortly, we'll be seeing if Hillary Rodham really DOES intend to run for president in 2008. If she actually wants to be president, I believe something will spring up to torpedo Kerry's chances.
Or not...whatever.
Don't understand this reasoning
Nothing will convince POA2 to post anything but bad news about the President's chances. He's just a "glass half-empty" kinda of guy.
Uh....when the interest rates go up, it's to stop INFLATION, not recession. That means the economy is strong.
Is all this doom and gloom based on one poll from Colorado that shows Bush and Kerry tied? I focus more on the fact that Bush is within 5 in Pennsylvania and Michigan. That is probably closer than the Kerry campaign thought it would be.
Well, if it helps at all, I'm not feeling so positive. Looks like a dead heat to me. I'm living on pins and needles. Hope we get a bounce from the convnetion.
Okay, we can agree on something. Bush has run a mediocre campaign at best so far and he has failed to do things that would make it runaway, like campaign on the good economy and for traditional marraige.
Greenscam created the recession which killed Bush I.
If he creates another recession now - well.....
No, it is not all doom and gloom - but we are trying to find trends - Many on here keep insisting that Kerry is "toast" ...he is "imploding, etc" - Facts are showing this not to be true -
GWB is stuck in the low 40's in several key States - Many GWB 2000 States are in play - (more so the Gore 2000 States) -
And lastly the notion that GWB lost PA and MI by around 5pts in 2000 - Why would you suggest he would lose them by more this time?? - The fact is after 4 years in office it is the GWB camp which I guarantee you thought they would be doing better in MI and PA at this point -
I just moved to Fort Collins. I'm taking graduate courses at CSU, and I started working there last week. Have had time to listen to the faculty and staff talk. They're all liberal, and they're scared, because they don't think Kerry has a chance in CO.
There's a really dumb ballot initiative to give CO's electoral votes "in proportion" to the popular vote. I don't think the Dems would try that if they thought they could win outright.
The high road leads to a cliff.
Dirty politics succeeds - you win by attacking, attacking, attacking and putting the OTHER guy on the defensive - just like a war.
