I agree, the 9/11 report was surprisingly direct and non-compromising. Except for completely ignoring the bin-Laden/Sudan swap, it was pretty fair to the President.

It should be required reading in public high schools as well.

Joel Belz: 9/11 Report should be required reading for voters:

I know Democrats don’t want to be known for any illiberal ideas like book banning. But for their own protection this year, The 9/11 Commission Report is one book they should try hard to keep out of every voter’s hands. —

Now that you have established yourself, along with Mr. Belz, as our poll tax Gestapo, what other requirements will be forthcoming?

Here is a great search engine for the 9/11 Commission's Final Report. It is speedy and detailed. Go to my anti-Hillary web site and click on the banner at the top of the page.

So, are you placing yourself in the category described by Mr. Belz which should ban this report at all costs? What about the truth scares you?

Having read The 9/11 Commission Report myself, I have a mild confidence that requiring 100 million voters to sit down and read through it for themselves would produce an immediate and dramatic shift in the pre-election polls. George W. Bush would leap instantly to a 60-40 lead in the projections of how people will actually vote on Nov. 2.
...but if most don't read it...
George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent

I agree with a lot of what you have to say, however I'm having trouble understanding your conclusion that this document is an indictment against the Democratic Party and that voters who read it will vote for Bush. I find it hard to believe that a bilateral commission would publish a book that convinces the voters that they should vote for Bush. I believe the better conclusion would have been to say more people should be as informed about the politics they are voting for no matter the camp they dwell in. I have not yet purchased or therefore read the book but it is a priority for me. I agree that we must involved and to be involved requires the cost of information and the mass media does not have the time to inform the public properly. It is up to the public to get informed and sadly the public does not have the time to inform themselves so they rely on the quickest way to get their information via the TV or printed press, of which basically six corporations own and operate. This election year should prove to be very interesting. I have never seen more people talking about what they concieve to be real issues than this year. The political battleground is as intense as it ever has been in this country precisly because it is such an historical moment we face as a nation. No one should doubt the love for our country we have, it is the open dialogue we all grave and we know there are vast differences of opinion in anything human. Let the talking continue maybe Babel can yet be averted.

The FACTS should convince the voters to vote for Bush.

I do not understand, how is this comment merited?

I have not, nor do I intend to read the entire report. Requiring anyone to read it before voting, or even to be aware of it, is ridiculous. As is making it even recommended reading for students. Freedom, ladies and gentlemen, does not entertain such thoughts.

Good article. I can't agree more. Years ago, I was death against a national ID card. However, with voter fraud and now terrorism, I've changed my thinking. Like it or not, we all have social security numbers, and drivers licenses with a photo. So at this point in time I believe a national ID is in order.

THANKS FOR     THE PING!

I think we all should read it because it deals with our very lives. It is the stuff of which our grandchildren's history classes will be made of... and for which they will one day demand from us an account on how we handled it.

As for your views on "freedom", I think El Sordo would agree that they sound more like "libertinaje" than the "libertad" you profess to champion.
