Fighting the Vietnam war all over again (Bill Press Slams SwiftVets)
Worldnetdaily ^ | August 13, 2004 | Bill Press

Posted on 08/13/2004 7:20:02 AM PDT by GreyFriar

BARF ALERT:

It's not even Labor Day, but we already know what will be the "seminal issue" of this election. No, it's not health care, education, jobs or the economy. It's not even the war in Iraq. snip It's John Kerry's combat record in Vietnam. That is now the No. 1 issue on cable television and rightwing talk radio, the subject of a new book, "Unfit for Command," and the target of an anti-Kerry commercial sponsored by a group calling itself Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

snip

-- The Truth: Not one of the 13 men who claim they "served with" Kerry in Vietnam actually did so.

snip

-- The Accusers: Neither John O'Neill nor Jerome Corsi, co-authors of "Unfit for Command," is credible. O'Neill is a professional Kerry hater....

snip

-- The Conclusion: Compare the two. John Kerry volunteered for the Navy, for Vietnam and for dangerous SWIFT-boat duty. He was awarded three Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star and the Silver Star – while George W. Bush, with his father's help, ducked the draft by joining the National Guard. Once trained to fly, he had himself taken out of active service to work on a political campaign in Arkansas. He won no medals. His superior officers say they can't even confirm he showed up for duty.

I thought World Net Daily was a conservative site? Now it is the site where Bill Press's book Bush Must Go! can be ordered?

This article read like it was written by Joe Conason.

It's John Kerry's combat record in Vietnam. That is now the No. 1 issue...

If John Kerry didn't make his service in Vietnam his #1 issue and the entire basis of his presidential ambition, then it would not be an issue at all today. John Kerry made it an issue. Not the GOP or others.

It is true that President Bush did not serve in Vietnam. It is also true that President Bush did not commit atrocities against the people of Vietnam. Do we want someone as President who does not have the strength of character not to indulge in such acts or, if ordered to do so, does not have the character to refuse... Might as well elect a guard from Treblinka... they were just "following orders" too.

Kerry Lies

War Criminal or War Hero,
See both you cannot be.
You claimed you burned a village,
Sounds like a crime to me.
Cambodia in Sixty-Eight,
You say that you were there.
You said Nixon said you weren’t,
Just why would Nixon care?
He wasn’t even president,
Till Nineteen Sixty-Nine.
But details never bother you,
Bold lies do suit you fine.
Three Purple Hearts for paper cuts,
A Bronze and Silver Star.
Then home you came, threw them away,
But look now, there they are.
You testified with still more lies,
About brave fighting men.
The things you claimed that they did,
Just aren’t true now or then.
So tell us please John Kerry,
Which lie we should believe.
Oh what a tangled web you’ve weaved,
You practice to deceive.

Bill, Bill. Are you telling us you want Kerry to run on his record in the Senate?

Kerry wanted to play in this sandbox, don't blame conservatives if his lies have turned it into a catbox.

I like that ...it is true that President Bush did not serve in Vietnam. It is also true that President Bush did not commit atrocities against the people of Vietnam. It is also true that President Bush did not falsify reports to pad his medal resume. It is also true that Bush did not falsify medal requests for his crewmen in order to buy their silence. It is also true that Bush did not spend Christmas in Cambodia or use that lie to influence government policy. etc etc
