On the 5th I posted an article title The Media is the Real Enemy - Watch Media Reaction to the Swift Boat Vets Story and be Convinced!. After observing what has happened since and in particular the performance typified by Crossfire and Hardball tonight, is there any question remaining that our primary activism objective needs to be defeating the media hegemony that nourishes the beast?
I've been involved in FReeper activism beginning way back with the March for Justice in '98. I now believe my energies have been nothing but shadow boxing. Every single action that we have undertaken against groups or individuals can trace their existence to an adoring dim media that creates them, props them up and then protects them from damage through propaganda, misdirection and lies.
I think it's time we redirect our efforts to the source that creates, sustains and drives liberalism.
Comments and suggestions?
Could it be media propaganda?
Look Tpaine, 82 days is not going to be enough time to appease the unappeasable. If there are not enough "REAL" issues for them then it is a lost cause anyway. If not letting a REAL communist win the Whitehouse enough to vote for Bush then I don't know what a "REAL" reason is.
We do not have a political party capable of defending the best interests of this great Nation.

Well said bump.
Wow, I wish I had been left with the same impression. Instead, I was almost driven to tears, not easily accomplished with me.
Matthews' hatred was out of proportion to the confidence he claimed to have in the Navy (who awarded the medals) and Kerry's band of brothers (who confirm his stories). But it reminded me of how far the Democrats will go and how yet another generation (in Iraq and Afghanistan) is at risk. Matthews, O'Reilly and all the rest aren't a bit concerned about what a man, who has done what Kerry did in his Viet Nam days and who has betrayed the military again with his votes on Iraq, will do as President while we are at war. That's frightening to me.
You gotta start somewhere.
Another approach here would be to organize Pro-Republican ticket demonstrations through the local FR chapters with the assistance of local conservative talk radio. Numbers who show up matter.
We've got to have Bush in the White House and majorities in Congress. Replacements are coming up on the SCOTUS.
They and their party are all afraid of the media...ergo...
Very good point. Explains the 'desperation' that has risen during this election cycle. A wounded elephant, uh er, donkey, isn't something you want to be stuck in a pen with.
The 527 ads are also killing us. In Ohio, the 527's democrat ads are more frequent than the kerry and bush ads put together.
Could you do some research on how much the media fund, ACT, the DNC and moveon.org are spending. I think it must be over 100 million. The chairman of progressive insurance has already donated over 14 million to these groups. How much theraza and her surrogates and soros are spending is anyone's guess.
Actually, I think all we need do is balance the media to win, with a few other minor issues.
Torie, I think you're exactly right. I've been listening to various radio shows the past couple of weeks, on the web. Programs I haven't listened to before.
And have been struck with the plain common sense of some of the callers. People just get it. They somehow are just getting it.
In fact, I thought I was listening to people who were aficionados of FR, but they may just have been regular ordinary people, who know BS when they hear it.
I couldn't agree more. He was in the belly of the beast and masterfully dodged the pathetic bullets Larry King was firing by answering truthfully and knowledgeably. He confronts his enemies head-on with his resolve and I have no doubt he will do to Kerry what was done to Albore when they debate.
Thanks Texasforever, PERCEPTION IS EVERYTHING. I believe we can influence perception without sacrificing our honor.
Ha! Must have been subliminal. Didn't even notice it.

You sound like J.C.
Well, I'm going to take that as a compliment, because I do admire J.C. Watts a great deal. Thank you!
He really is right, though, and while I can't blame anyone for wanting to take the doctor's salary over the teacher's, we are seeing ample evidence that each profession is valuable in its own way.
Congrats to your kids - and to you for raising them right! Let them know there are a LOT of people cheering them on, and here's hoping that as conservatives they'll have plenty of company in their chosen fields.
We all need to get out as often as is possible and talk to people in person.
And demonstrate by example.
I'm currently "tutoring" several Coast Guard crew that I see evry week.
2 weren't going to register to vote at all ut have now.
I don't talk politics on the base but I do lead by examle.
They catch on quick.
They know Kerry is a phony.
And they know I was there when Kerry was.
O'Reilly's all about O'Reilly. He and Kerry are the biggest narcissists and self-promoters of all, and there's some strange realization of that deep inside O'Reilly that's driving him lately.
Sort of a Hitler youth deal in middle age as I see it.
I too sent an email letting them know in very certain terms how stunned I was with the treatment Chris Matthews gave to John O'Neill.
