The stress of the campaign and the nonstop tour of battleground states is taking a toll on the Kerrys.
Teresa Heinz Kerry has been confiding in staffers how the tour is just "nonstop movement" and how there "is no time just to 'be.'"

A while back on another thread someone mentioned there was soemthing odd about the death of her first husband.

Yes, and she is also used to getting her own way and doing WHAT she wants to do WHEN she wants to do it. Campaigning is grueling work. They have a schedule that MUST be followed and they have to stay with their plan. She is not going to last much longer. This can't be pleasant for someone who is always in charge to have to follow someone else's schedule. Just wait...in a few days it will be reported that she has fallen ill or had a slight accident and has to go home for "awhile". She'll never rejoin the campaign, but will stay at home sniping at Bush in her own way.

Exactly: she's simply NOT a political wife. A real political wife would sleep in the same bed, or at least the same suite, no matter what, just to maintain appearances.

My impression of Mrs. Kerry is she's never really been "on" at any time. She seems so disconnected, I can't put my finger on it. I work in the office of a manufacturing facility, but occasionally go out in the plant and even ride a forklift to discuss something with the driver. After that, I still looked more pressed and put together that Mrs. Kerry did the evening she spoke at the convention. She's just sloppy looking and in need of a few grooming tips.
Mrs. Kerry looks kind of sad in that photo....hmmmm.

Security arrangements need to know where the important people are. I doubt the personal blow up required forced separation.
I also agree that this story is an inappropriate pressure point. Push on his lies about his military service, let the Swifties have their say. Push on his Senate record. Push on his present policy positions. Push on his meetings with foreign leaders. But don't push on his personal life, not seriously anyway.

I agree that this was not her choice.
I don't like her, but I don't hate her, and certainly many people (male or female) can empathize with being dragged along on an unwanted journey.
What is up with the shoes in that photo. Mrs. Ketchup could really take some lessons for our First Lady Laura Bush.
