Credit: The Cabal The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger. "Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix." We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research. With the nation on high alert for al-Qaida terrorists, the Department of Homeland Security is putting its border officers through "etiquette" classes to soften their image and make them less threatening to arriving foreign immigrants, WorldNetDaily has learned. |

Meet It! Greet It! Defeat It! |
Can't think of his name either, but I believe the Afghan resistance leader was assassinated by a film crew on September 10, 2001.
Well normally I wouldn't pay much attention. Dead fish? Oh, too bad...
However, as Nana said, something could have been dumped offshore...or maybe those unmentionable folks did know something...
Officials confirm assassination plot foiled
NOUAKCHOTT, Mauritania - A foiled bombing and assassination plot was aimed to kill the president of this Arab-dominated West African nation as he left this weekend for France, ruling party officials in Mauritania said Tuesday.
President Maaoya Sid'Ahmed Ould Taya's government confirmed reports of Monday's alleged coup attempt for the first time, calling it an ``attempted coup d'etat'' in a brief dispatch on state media.
State radio and the state news agency mentioned the alleged plot only in passing, saying that a meeting Tuesday between Taya and an envoy from Gambia marked ``the first time he had been seen since Monday's attempted coup d'etat.'' The report did not elaborate.
Remember that nuke that was supposed to have been detonated off the coast on July 15th? Nevermind... Someone please FReepmail me some more foil.
I've been searching re your inquiry on and off today because I know it was discussed on FR. It was Masood from Afghanistan and the date was 9/9. This was originally posted before 9/11. Interesting discussion.

I normally don't either, but it such a large number.....and the way they died - bleeding from the gills. Very odd.
I think you might be thinking of Ahmed Shah Massoud, Afghanistan Northern Alliance Chief. He was killed September 9th.

The sketch of a plot to target President Bush surfaced on an online magazine of al Qaeda's organization in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
A one-line answer to a Saut al-Jihad reader's query said: "The plan you have drawn up to assassinate Bush is good but would need a lot of preparation."
"Perhaps you can take part in it, if possible, and thanks," the magazine told the reader -- named only as Madad -- without giving further details. The reader's question was not published.
A Middle East security expert who reviewed the site said it would be rare for a known al Qaeda figure to discuss a detailed plan over a Web site. He said, however the message may have some "operational value," but using Bush's name indicated if a plot were afoot, it was in an early stage.
"When it comes to impending operations, al Qaeda either restricts itself to heavily encrypted correspondence or already has a localized word-of-mouth system in place with the terrorist cell in question, isolating it from outside communication," said the expert, who asked not to be named.
He said the specific reference could also be a red herring.
"The incautiousness of the Bush mention, on a site that contains the caveat not to divulge 'operational secrets', raises another possibility: that al Qaeda is trying to distract from an impending attack far from the White House -- in Europe, say," he added.
It is cause for concern when Department of Immigration mentality seems to be "it's always been that way..." Times have changed. Illegals flipping off our immigration system should have no rights at all - none, nada, zero! The hard-nosed treatment illegals deserve undoubtedly won't happen until we are attacked again. with our government and our politicians, change is way too slow and funds for necessary projects (for instance, the Michigan cameras needed to patrol the borders) when it comes to protecting the very country and citizens they are formed to govern.
BLAIR SECURITY BLUNDER (Leaked when and where he and his family would be in Italy)
Secret details of Tony Blair's planned holiday to Italy have been leaked.
A fax with security arrangements was inadvertently sent from police headquarters in Tuscany to the Italian press. Siena police said the release of the information was down to a malfunctioning fax machine.
The document was originally sent to police chiefs at the weekend. But it was retained in the fax machine's memory and was subsequently sent out to various media numbers.
The Blairs' visit to Italy, expected to start later this week, coincides with heightened security fears across Italy following numerous threats from Muslim militants.
The interior ministry has urged security chiefs across the country to be on maximum alert. Neither Downing Street nor the Foreign Office would comment on the Italian police blunder. The Blairs began their holiday with a stay at Sir Cliff Richard's Barbados villa. In Italy, they are expected to stay at the Tuscany mansion of wine-grower Prince Girolamo Strozzi and at Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi's villa in Sardinia. The Blairs are also squeezing in a trip to the opening of the Olympic Games in Athens.
Massoud.

Common Murres Washing Ashore (Oregon - Wednesday, Aug. 11th)
Scientists attribute the hundreds of dead seabirds to natural causes -- perhaps too many young birds and too little food
Wednesday, August 11, 2004 RICHARD L. HILL
Beachcombers strolling Oregon's scenic shores may encounter a disturbing sight this month: hundreds of dead birds.
Common murres, Oregon's most abundant nesting seabird, are washing ashore either severely weakened or dead. Most are young murres that haven't fledged, although some are adults........

Posted on: Sunday, August 8, 2004 HAWAI'I BRIEFS Gray Sea Worms Wash Ashore (Hawaii - Aug. 8th)
They were a strange sight at Ala Moana Beach. An estimated 200 gray sea worms, called polycheate worms, washed ashore Friday to the amazement of veteran lifeguard Steve Clendenin.
Clendenin, who has been assigned to the beach since 1979, had never seen one before. Clendenin described the worms as a "nightmarish cross between a centipede and a sea urchin."
The 1- to- 6-inch-long worms normally live beneath the sand on the ocean floor, feeding on algae, state Health Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo said. Most of the worms that washed ashore appeared to be dying.
Okubo attributed the deaths to the ocean's salt water being diluted with fresh water from recent rains. The worms don't sting or bite, although they sometimes have thornlike spines on their backs, according to the department's Clean Water Branch. The department found it unnecessary to close the beach. There were no reports of the worms coming ashore yesterday.
Better that something is available as an antidote.
Wow - Thanks.
a google jackpot.
