The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

With the nation on high alert for al-Qaida terrorists, the Department of Homeland Security is putting its border officers through "etiquette" classes to soften their image and make them less threatening to arriving foreign immigrants, WorldNetDaily has learned.

... Part 9 ...

I'm actually pretty good. I'm ready for my third Diet Coke, after two coffees; we've had a big spread of Subway sandwiches and other goodies.

A load of Tampa Tribune and New York Daily News people just walked into the newsroom, setting up shop here. The more the merrier.

In case you didn't know, our paper - Herald-Tribune - is owned by the dreaded New York Times. Yes, I'm an employee of the Old Gray Lady. I can't stand the paper's writing, but damn if we don't have great benefits. :-)

Was this a public service/educational type program?

ExSoldier - No, we don't own a gun, but ever since 9/11, I wish I did. (I'm afraid to have one in the house with two young kids.)

JJ, I'm an Instructor and believe me that's easily overcome. I raised a daughter with a house FULL of firearms! Now, she is married and has her Ruger SP101 .357 magnum for protection. You get through this storm and I'll send you a freepmail on what to do and how to handle them. Give me their ages. IF you could promise your wife the kids can be made safe around guns, would she be in favor of a purchase?

It is all I can do to keep from getting in my car and
start making treks to Florida. They are going to need
so much help.

I hope the prayer warriors are on this. You'd think I was a bleeding heart liberal the way my heart breaks for people in harms way. I wish there was something I could do to fix this and everything else that goes wrong.

No, it was make by Sky television for their Skyone channel. It is a series presented by an ex-SAS survival expert. It has reconstructions and presents different scenarios in each episode. Next week's is about biological attacks.

Every home in Britain is supposed to get a booklet in the next few weeks from the government about what to do in the event of a terrorist attack. The last public announcement campaign on television was during the cold war in the 1980's. The adverts were called "protect and survive."

Thank you. Did they provide a reference for the "80" number?

It was sourced from the testimony of the Russian army guy, Lebed (who is now dead). I believe he said that out of the 120 odd that were manufactured, the soviet union could only account for around 40.

Gotcha. Thanks.

Stanislov Lunev talked about the prepositioned ones, IIRC.

The only part of Florida I have been to is the pan handle.
I have family in Engelside just outside of Corpus Christi
Texas and all the big old trees down there are bent from
huricanes and they just keep growing that way. It looks
pretty cool. Do you have trees like that there?

Good. And your wife and family? Any news on how they're doing?

My folks are still planning to drive to Sarasota tomorrow. I just don't think they realize what's going on and the aftermath. My brother is ready to take their car keys for a few days. LOL
