The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

In the meantime, that big sucking sound you hear is a huge sigh of relief from the Tampa Bay area. They are really dodging a HUGE bullet. Charley is going to go right between Charlotte Harbor and Fort Myers - as a Category 4 - that's Andrew-like-territory. Very, very scary.

Now there's a Tropical Depression No. 4 out near the Windward Islands - same place where Charley formed.

There's also another forming off of Africa as we speak. It's looking like a hurricane factory right now.

There is also one getting ready to form just east of the windward islands.

If this east coast trough stays put it's going to be a very busy couple of weeks here on the East Coast.

There are indications that Charles is on the verge of Category 5 status now. Sanibel might cease to exist after today.

What indications? NOAA is not responding very well. The Tampa doppler must be overloaded. I'm getting response from NOAA, but the radar is broken.

Yeah, I think maybe a .30-30 L/A in the trunk would be good. Nothing too expensive, in case of damage or theft.

These days who can you trust. I live in Bend, Oregon and our past Sheriff is in jail for stealing over half a million dollars, and his peers voted him Sheriff of the Year !!!! Today's paper has an article about a deputy just arrested for over 140 felony counts too numerous to name but I will attach the article below. With cops like these it seems you are on your own and $$$ rules when it comes to justice. here is the link:

Well, it's only 10 mph shy and the eye wall has gotten better defined over the past hour as it heads towards the shore. I am just guessing that it continues to strengthen based on past experience.

Most weather sites are down or having major trouble right now. I think all of America finally woke up to this one in the past 2 hours...

There is a huge stockpile of M14 rifles. They could be easily modified from select fire to semi-auto. It won't happen. There are a bunch of anti-gun politicians actively fighting against it.

I was just thinking, since I can't get any radar from the affected areas, that if a catastrophe other then a hurricane occurred in any major US city(ies), it will be close to impossible for us to communicate via FR.

I've been contemplating this and struggling how to keep the thing a summary, especially with how it has grown. Clearly there are threats from those locations of a different nature than AQ, which I've tended to focus upon in the summaries. More to ponder, thank for the input!
