In Rush's closing segment he said that he just received a story or document saying that lawyers for both the Kerry and Edwards teams were sending out letters to TV stations warning them about showing the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth advertisement!
Just the type of proof we need to show we do not need lawyer's in the white house.
Wow...they're really doing this. Has Kerry gone nuts? I'm no lawyer, but based on what little I know about libel, his chance of winning ranges from slim to none.
However, a guy here in the newsroom tells me that this is actually not unusual. He said it's common for candidates to threaten to sue over campaign ads. News to me. Wonder if he's right...?
Human Events has the video. That's how I saw the ad.
Seems if he IS the doctor, then these attorneys, Kerry, Edwards, and the DNC has a whole lot of trouble on their hands.
They don't have to win the case, just drag it out.
I wouldn't get in the habit of using the word "gook" on FR - it is frowned upon, and rightly so.
If anyone is interested I downloaded the video and could post it on a couple of different websites....
It must be tough to refuse to run 527 ads during the Super Bowl. Terrible loss of revenue.
I'm sure it float around for a bit & will show up again, so will keep my eyes peeled. Thanx
In case it's not yet been posted, Human Events has a copy of the fateful fax posted here: http://humaneventsonline.com.edgesuite.net/unfit_pdf.html :
with this statement:
Kerry, Democrats Try to Scare Stations Out of Airing Vietnam Vets Anti-Kerry Ad
Lawyers for the DNC and Kerry-Edwards sent this letter to television station managers, claiming the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth ad (click here to view the ad http://humaneventsonline.com.edgesuite.net/unfit_video_wmv.html ) is "false" and "libelous."
BUMPING THE THREAD. Need to keep updated on this.
A thread has been started for that fax:

A GOOD OPINION ARTICLE (on msNBC.com, Rare) makes a strong case about the swift boat situation: "Kerry won't be able to dismiss this sort of thing as ancient history. He'll have to face it head-on.
Will he be able to do that? He'd better. That won't decide the race, exactly. It'll just decide whether there's a race at all." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3395977/
A polygraph taken by the doctor would shut everyone up real quick.
I've heard that the 60 day window does not apply to 527s... just corporations and labor unions? Am I wrong on this?
The K-E campaign was ready with this move weeks ago, maybe even months ago.
You can buy and donate copies to your local library/libraries.
They NEED them. ;-)
The webmaster for the Swiftvets.com website was just on Hannity, and he said they have been subjected to DoS attacks today.
