Wednesday August 04, 2004--The latest Rasmussen Reports Presidential Tracking Poll shows the race for the White House is tied once again--Senator John Kerry and President George W. Bush each attract 46% of the vote.
If the election was held today, which would be unconstitutional, it would be Kerry 296, Bush 242. And we coming to bat.
hehehehehe...
?? I thought Mrs. Edwards was out campaigning...
We must keep our noses to the grindstone in unrelenting fashion. There can be no letting up!
I check it out now and then, usually scanning for how they spin what would be bad news from their point of view. What strikes me is that their threads seem to be a great deal more chatter, and less logic.
Listening to various talking heads, there are some libs that can put together rational thoughts... but this seems to occur rarely at DU. Seriously now, trying my best to see this from as unbiased view as I can strain myself to take, the sheer volume of rational replies here versus at DU is 100 to 1, no matter what I make of the actual content of the replies.
The Kerry Konvention Kollapse Kontinues.
We need to build a maximal margin in order to accomodate any unexpected glitches or gotchas. Do not relent!
Bush has not fallen below 50% approval on Ras for many weeks. I thought, when he took a 3% lead about two weeks ago, he'd never give it up. Looks like Bush only gave up the lead briefly. He should be up again tomorrow.
This is just part of the hell'ry 2008 process - no more, no less. I hope we have someone in the wings to do battle with the beast...and finally slay it.
Buffy, are you there?
Things that are certain about all polls posted here.
1. Polls good for Bush will be hailed as being accurate.
2. Polls bad for Bush will be trashed as being done on the weekend, unlikely voters etc.
3. Polls bad for Bush will have numerous posts that contradict those in number 2 above.
3. Polls good for Bush will have many folks saying not to get excited because it doesn't matter or its a trick.
4, Finally, for polls good for Bush the obligatory posting from someone that completely ignores the various ranges of responses who only sees cheerleaders and ingores the varied responses.
The convention was their best chance to win more support for JFnK and they got none. They seem to be stuck on about 46 - 48%, and have to be asking themselves exactly how they are supposed to sway that other 2 - 4% to their side -- especially with a healthier situation in Iraq and a still solid economy.
It's not over, but they took their best shot and whiffed.
The media is determined to make sure Lurch wins and they'll sauce any poll they can in order to make him appear to be a winner.
You've made my point. "Ahead", "behind" have no meaning at this point. They will have meaning on Nov. 4th or maybe sooner.
Not now...too many variables, and way way too subjective.
You are spot on!
So you're saying that not only do FReepers trash polls with bad Bush results and praise those with good Bush results, but there'll also be FReepers who post that they notice this? LOL!!!
~~What strikes me is that their threads seem to be a great deal more chatter, and less logic.~~
That's why Kerry's message makes total sense to them. "I will defeat terrorism", "I will create 45million new jobs", "Total equality will reign during my presidency", "We will be oil independant by 2006", blah, blah, blah. Never bothers to say how this will all be done. But those details are not important to the DU minded folks.
Of course not but its a given that the responses to such will include 1. Polls are never accurate because i was never polled, 2. Polls are accurate because Bush is ahead, and the one that bothers me the most is 3. That Freepers never trash or question positive polls. Like the one I responded to, its a false statement. Freepers trash everything including positive polls.
That's my feeling about it.
I think between the RNC Convention & the debates, there's gonna be a jump in GWB's numbers that will make the Dims very, very nervous.
