Today's FEEBLE

YOKE :

A new young monk arrives at the monastery. He is assigned to help the other monks in copying the old canons and laws of the church by hand.  He notices, however, that all of the monks are copying from copies, not from the original manuscript.

So, the new monk goes to the head abbot to question this, pointing out that if someone made even a small error in the first copy, it would never be picked up. In fact, that error would be continued in all of the subsequent copies.

The head monk, says, "We have been copying from the copies for centuries, but you make a good point, my son."

So, he goes down into the dark caves underneath the monastery where the original manuscript is held as archives in a locked vault that hasn't been opened for hundreds of years.

Hours go by and nobody sees the old abbot. So, the young monk gets worried and goes downstairs to look for him.

He sees him banging his head against the wall, and wailing "We forgot the "R", We forgot the "R" His forehead is all bloody and bruised and he is crying uncontrollably.

The young monk asks the old abbot, "What's wrong, father?"

With a choking voice, the old abbot replies, "The word is celebrate.
The word is celebRate."

Greetings, Canteeners, Troops,
and All the Ships at Sea!

It's Pancake Wednesday in the Canteen! And Sarge is once again, back in the cubes, ready for another exciting day.

The Home Detachment is busy with country-charm stuff today; mainly involving cleaning up the debris from the family attempt at grape jam preserves, last night. I don't think it's supposed to be that messy...

Little by little, Sarge is sliding back into the routine of civilian life again, picking up all those little strings of office gossip and other fluff that builds up when away for a while. Old faces, new faces, that kind of thing. Who knew thongs and hip-huggers were casual business attire outside Louisville's Baxter Avenue?

Well, onto the Personals:

MOJO/BETSY/RADIX/TONKIN: Another successful Pancake thread in the making! Just watch what's in the batter, that's all...

KJ/USVET: Looks like another nasty weather event is headed our way. And it's still summer?

HIJINX: I've been watching your reports on Piper's progress. Glad to see she's on the mend;

TRUSSELL/STAR/SPOTSY/BENTFEATHER/KATHY/LAUREL: Thanks so much for the dance and the tunes last night, they were welcome additions!

Sarge will be in the area all day, so Let's Have Fun!

SARGE

Mornin' all!

Didn't have pancakes for b'fast; instead had 2 Egg McMuffins.

I had to fast for 12 hours as I had to have some blood work done; and they were the first edible things I ran into after leaving the "vampires"!

Of course, there was that one very good looking nurse...but I decided against that!

Have a great day!

Commissioned in 1981, Dallas is the first Los Angeles-class submarine to have a Dry Deck Shelter (DDS). Dry Deck Shelters provide specially configured nuclear powered submarines with a greater capability of deploying Special Operations Forces (SOF). DDSs can transport, deploy, and recover SOF teams from Combat Rubber Raiding Crafts (CRRCs) or SEAL Delivery Vehicles (SDVs), all while remaining submerged. In an era of littoral warfare, this capability substantially enhances the combat flexibility of both the submarine and SOF personnel. U.S. Navy photo by Paul Farley (RELEASED)
