#35. Yes it is a shame. I loved the "Red Bulls" and "Flying Fists", among the others. They were great organizations.

Typing one handed, with a fussy grandkid on my lap....thak you for posting this...particularly the very well stated explaination of Carter ruining our air defense command structure

You will NEVER find this or any part of it in the 9/11 commission report, which is sanitized to protect Clinton and his buddy Carter

I also liked working with the "Michigan Six Pack"(171st F.I.S., 191st F.I.G., Michigan A.N.G.), Outstanding Unit!!!!

I remember "Defiance", F-106A s/n 80772(58-0772) of the 171st at Selfridge. She was immaculate.

Still the Six Pack, now they're "Good to the Last Drop", too. Always did have a great sense of humour. The conversion from F-16's to C-130's was a difficult one. 191st is gone and 171st is an Airlift Squadron now. Check out my profile for some pics.

Carter's Legacy: Mile long gas lines, double digit infation, double digit unemployment, 20% interest rates, coinage of the term Misery Index and coinage of the word "Recession" to make what WAS a full blown depression go down better with the peasants, the destruction of the Iranian political structure and beginning of the reign of organized terrorism throughout the region, American hostages and Operation Helicopter Crash.

I remember it well. He was the first occupant of the Oval Office that I refused to grace with the title that generally goes with it.

During the Clinton administration he was appointed Official Enabler of Allowing N Korea Free Reign to Develop Nukes.

A side thought: if not for the reprehensive actions of Hanoi John Kerry, Nixon would not have been fodder for the Democrat's bloodless revolution machine, Gerald Ford wouldn't have been roped unwillingly into the job of president - and therefore would not have been in a position to fail to solve ALL the country's many problems in two years - and we would never have GOTTEN that metnally defective jerk of a peanut farmer to BEGIN with.

"Carter singlehandedly legitimized terrorism as we know it today by shaking hands with Arafat."

Don't forget that Carter won a Nobel Piece Prize for ligitimizing Yasser. NOT as a peace maker, but as "a kick in the leg to the current administration" if I remember the exact quote from the committee correctly. He therefore is truely a "piecemaker".
