Reports in Kuwait on Friday said a man assumed to be Al Qaeda leader in Iraq, Abu Musab Zarqawi has been captured near the Syrian border.
The report claimed that the man was captured during a joint operation by U.S. occupation forces and Iraqi police, Al Siyasah newspaper, quoting Iraqi sources, said Friday.
It also said that the suspect was caught in a white shirt and jeans, and he gave no resistance when he realized his hideout was besieged, according to Iraqi police.
The U.S. and Iraqi investigators are trying to identify the captive and has sent his DNA sample for testing, the unconfirmed report indicated.
Zarqawi is the most wanted suspect in Iraq and has a U.S. bounty of $25 million on his head.
That all depends on what the definition of "debunking" is, donchaknow!
I find this particular debunking suspicious...
Keeps popping up . . . denials are disinfo to keep those he's leading us too in the dark?
Thanks. Then...there's still a chance....
Maybe they have had him for a week or so now and just needed that long to get the panties off his head. I would hope that we would not announce any major captures like this until we got all the intelligence we needed from the scumbag. Interesting thought though, since Iraq is soverign and has their own police force, can they put panties on these guys heads?
Hey, why not. They seem to think they're running the Republican campaign anyway (don't mention 9/11, etc).
Standing by for the denial.
Would be nice though, and what timing.
Good, just in time to cut the little demon-possessed coward's head off and bring it back to the states to make a new commercial for Bush...
When I read yesterday of Zarqawi's capture I was wondering why they didn't hold the news one day to not conflict with Kerry's speech. Then it was debunked by the military.
As slimey as that sounds I could hear the cries of "timing" and "conspiracy". I know lives are on the line but holding the news a day or two made sense to me. They can always say they withheld the news until DNA results came back.
It bad day for jf'nk/pretty-boy
First the President speech in Missouri, Iraqi's arrest 270 ^*(&^^* terrorists and now Zarqawi (if true). All we now is "Stockpile" of WMD's.
I use to forward these "Breaking News" stories on Freerepublic to my conservative friends at work all the time. And to many times they would be false stories, and I would have to put up with their, "You been getting your news from Freerepublic again, havn't you".
Waiting for confirmation from now on. Fingers crossed.
that maybe followed by Musharraf stepping up to a hastily organized news conference and opening with - We Got Him!
Isn't this about the tenth time we've captured this guy? Hey, I hope it's true, but I'll wait before celebrating...maybe he knows where Osama's remains are as well.
Oh my word...that's incredible. Downloading now...
LOL !!!! ...
Trout-fishing dittos ... lol
Yep! Maybe there's something to it.
