I am filling out a survey about gun ownership and have been asked about a .50 cal BMG rifle.
Could you please explain to me what this is and what it's used for?

I found the link on the drawing that the government sniper made when he killed the mom. He did this drawing shortly after the murder, then later claimed he was shooting at the guy running into the door. His artwork makes a lie of that, he deliberatly targeted the woman holding open the door.

I was wrong about Horiuchi not having a lawyer, he did have one to help him ease out of his possible legal troubles over his murdering the mother on the orders of his superiors.

I seem to remember something about them shooting caged dogs as they approached, though it's been a while and I could be mistaken.
It appears the "following orders" defense worked for Horiuchi, yet that defense certainly did not hold up 50 years ago at Nuremburg.
Yes, I did ask what it was. I had done a google and got a lot of pictures of the gun but no real substance. Most discriptions said that it was a sniper gun that could shoot over a mile away. I called the Bush-Cheney campaign and received the incorrect information. So I came here because I knew that people would know.
So I did do my homework before I came here.
I also asked my question to be kept in News until I got an answer. The mods can put this in whatever catagory the feel since I have my answer.
As stated before, I am not familiar with this gun. I can't know everything about everything, but I am willing to learn. I consider this discussion a learning experience that I can build on.
Those you don't have to lead, they remain stationary. (Well the actual dynamics would be a little more complicated than that :) But since they orbit at 22,000 miles it would take quite a lot of "gun" to shoot them down.

I really never heard of that, but the congressional committee that had a US Army general tell them that the tanks were used to "punch open escape holes in the walls" as the videotape (infrared)showed the tank rolling over the roof of the part of the building it had just collapsed were just a bunch of wimps for not calling that general a liar and seeking to throw him in jail for immediately apparent perjury under oath.

3000 yards would be just over 1.7 miles. That would still be an awesome shot.
I'm starting to shop around to narrow it down a high-quality sight. Any suggestions? I have a Leupold MKIV CQ/T on my AR-10, but know very little about the rest of their line-up. I'd value and appreciate any suggestions you have.
