I am filling out a survey about gun ownership and have been asked about a .50 cal BMG rifle.
Could you please explain to me what this is and what it's used for?
Thank you
He did draw her looking out toward the evil men who had been killing her dog and son. No, she did not see them killed but she was looking towards them when he killed her deliberately.
And I do call them evil, I don't give a dang in whose employ they were in.
Original intent.
The founding fathers did not have RPGs, so they could not have intended for the Second Amendment to apply to RPGs.
They did, however, have fifty-caliber rifles.
The same thing be said for machineguns too.
"If you ever shoot one, you'll be hooked for life!"
You got that right. They are loads of fun and you allways make really cool friends :o)
What is your problem? You've decided that people on FR don't like a simple question about 50BMG, or that the moderators disapprove? Heard of the bang list?
Why did you even open the thread?
You made your less than cogent response 17 minutes after the initial posting, but yours was the FORTY-FIRST response. And that was before it got sent to the bang list! So much for it being the wrong forum.
Be sure and pop back in around post #200 to tell us again how this doesn't belong on FR.
The .50 cal BMG round was originally designed by Charles Browning for use in his revolutionary .50 Browning Machine Gun.
I agree that they are evil. Your facts are just wrong. She was holding the door open while Randy and friend dashed from shed to house.
BTTT
HLL, Go here for the best source for information on the .50 BMG round and rifles (and pistols) that shoot it...

There is a forum there that has some of the most knowledgable people on the planet when it comes to the .50 BMG.

The problem was that the appellant was dead and his attorney did not show up to make his case.
The government presented their case without rebuttal.
I do not think that her looking out towards the evil that was upon them as she held open that door and the snipers view of her behind that held open door are in opposition.
What he drew was her looking out from behind that door looking toward him as he shot at her. I never wrote that the door wasn't open.
He knew he was killing an unarmed woman holding a baby.
Do you really want the answer? ~ null and void
DANG RIGHT I DO, AND EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW. ~ Robert Taylor
I had a good answer, but, in post #95 bondjamesbond expressed it much better that I had.
He said:
Actually, the more important question is what is the practical usage of the Second Amendment? If you think the Second Amendment is about duck hunting, preventing break-ins and plinking at targets, then the .50 BMG is probably more gun than anyone would ever need. If, on the other hand, you think the Second Amendment is about an armed citizenry being the ultimate check on tyrannical government, then a .50 BMG in private hands probably would strike you as a heck of a good idea. ~ bondjamesbond
I added the bold...
You can believe Horiuchi and his lawyer, I'll believe Randy Weaver. Deal?
I'm sure his sketch is a superb work of art.
As did you...
She asked "What is" not "what is your opinion". I think anyone that would come on and ask such a simple question without doing at least some homework should be reminded of that. And she wanted this to stay up in 'news'!
Don't forget the cop killer armor piercing deer rifle ammo available at Wal-Mart
Oh, it's scarry!
Make it go away, mrs Feinstein,
make it go away!
"Whatever.
You can believe Horiuchi and his lawyer, I'll believe Randy Weaver. Deal?
I'm sure his sketch is a superb work of art."
Naah, I am quoting Weaver's lawyer from his book condemning Horiuchi and the men who directed him to shoot and the managers who changed the rules so he and others that day could shoot. Horiuchi never needed a lawyer, but he dang well should have.
Amen! We have enough politicians who don't understand the Bill of Rights. It's hard to support the election of another one. Not many choices out there though.
That should have read .45 Automatic Revolver.
It reads better that way.
