They make a great couple. Makes one wonder who takes charge in the bedroom. Deaniac the wild man, or Hanoi John. After all, still waters run deep!
LOL!

The yellow bracelet is from the Lance Armstrong cancer foundation. Kerry glommed onto this trendy ornament when the Tour deFrance was in the news.

Does this guy own any ties that aren't PINK?My theory: He wears the light colored (not just pink) pastel power ties to brighten up his looks. He has a dark presence due to his dark (over tanned?) Adam's family face. Those are very expensive ties.

Please thank your dad, from this coastie, for his service. That was my understanding of the etiquette as well, but it's "misabused" often. I would never criticize someone for saluting servicemen, however, as a sign of respect.
I do not feel JFKerry was doing this to show repsect, but as a false way to attempt to earn respect. I agree it was poorly executed, as well.

Kudos to your Dad. Another coastie, Eddie Albert, not only offloaded Marines at Tarawa, but cruised around UNDER FIRE, picking up Marines wading into the beach and taking them in as well. Coasties got guts aplenty in my book.

My dad, a WWII Coast Guard veteran from the Pacific theater, said this was a badly-executed salute and that only the Commander in Chief is allowed to salute uncovered and out of uniform. Your dad is right. That pitiful excuse for a salute would have earned him some push-up time in boot camp.

It was Aruanan's dad who was the WW2 coastie, i was just chasing mom & pop in smallboats & fixing buoys in peacetime.
The coast guard are not the wimps many seem to think they are when called on.
