A Zogby poll taken while the four-day Democratic Convention was underway shows that the Kerry Edwards ticket has failed to add even a single percentage point to its support.
The poll of 1,001 likely voters conducted Monday through Thursday found that 48 percent support the Kerry Edwards ticket - the exact same number that backed the Massachusetts Democrat in a July 6-7 survey.
The only good news for the presidential hopeful came in the category of undecideds, which had grown to eight points in the latest survey, up from five points in the earlier sample. The latest Zogby numbers show Kerry Edwards leading Bush Cheney 48 to 43 percent. Support for Bush Cheney in the previous sample was 46 percent.

Somebody on the GOP side needs to simply point out that we're glad to finally have the Democrats on board now with the idea of supporting homeland security, national defense, and the War on Terrorism. I know it may come as a shock to them (especially AWOL Senators Kerry and Edwards), but that's the business that this country has been about since late 2001.
So since the DEMs are proposing things that we're already doing, why change Presidents?

What a horrible convention. I'd be surprised if he gets more than a 3 point post convention bounce and he'll quickly lose that and another 5-10.

It is kind of tough to get a bounce when no one watches it.

Very witty, I at first was inclined to reply that it is enough to convince one of reincarnation but, after thinking it over, based on my admittedly limited knowledge I think you may have insulted Benedict Arnold.

It is kind of tough to get a bounce when no one watches it. I know that Limbaugh has been mocking the low ratings that the mainstream networks had, but has anyone seen any ratings form CNN, Fox and MSNBC? I'd be interested in seeing if their ratings went up last week, and which of the three had the best ratings for the week.

NewsMax is often heavy on spin, but their take on this is on the money. JFnK did not improve on his 48% at all. He added no new voters. So, if this poll is accurate, he got NO bounce.
That said, I do agree we need to wait until next week to get a true feel for the extent of the bounce (or lack of). These initial reports sure are encouraging though!

It's a bit early to tell but i think a bounce of 2% to 5% is about all he'll get. I agree. There will be a very short lived 2%-5% bump. I work with 5 generally non political people. 3 watched and none were impressed. I'm happy.

I think the only bounce he will get will be from the belated balloons.
