Michael Moore Says America Exports "Sadness And Misery." "Before a delighted Cambridge crowd, Moore reflected on the tragedy of human existence: 'You're stuck with being connected to this country of mine, which is known for bringing sadness and misery to places around the globe.' In Liverpool, he paused to contemplate the epicenters of evil in the modern world: 'It's all part of the same ball of wax, right? The oil companies, Israel, Halliburton.'" (David Brooks, Op-Ed, "All Hail Moore," The New York Times, 6/26/04)

WHAT DO YOU THINK, SENATOR KERRY?

"America exports sadness and misery..."

When Michael Moore goes abroad, the statement is true.

This clown is going to be reporting for USA Today from the GOP Convention. The RNC should revoke this sack of dirt's media credentials. He's nothing but a leftist shill who should be stuffing his face with TV dinners or something.

Michael Moore is having increasing difficulty hiding his hatred for Jews.

I notice that he softpedals his Israel-bashing by trying to only badmouth Sharon when he speaks in the US.

Abroad, it's just Israel this, Israel that.

We also import it, eg. 911. Too bad we can't export Moore. Moore is one of whom I could use less.

Why is it always Halliburton named as the Big Bad Oil Service Corporation????

It wouldn't be because French-owned Schlumberger is their world-wide arch-rival, would it?

Naah! The American Left is too intelligent and perceptive to be suckered by Frenchmen!

Way too intelligent and perceptive. Right.

This clown is going to be reporting for USA Today from the GOP Convention.

USA Today are so gullible.

He's using their press credential so he can go and get footage for another "documentary" - footage that USA Today will never see a dime for sponsoring.

The RNC should revoke this sack of dirt's media credentials.

No they shouldn't.

That would give the clown more of the media attention that he craves worse than Velveeta.

So far, so good from the RNC.

They should hammer the hell out of his appearance (after saying he wouldn't attend at all) at the Dem Nat'l Convention, and especially the appearance in the skybox with Jimmy Carter.

Tie him around the Dem's necks the way the media tied Pat Buchanan around the GOP in 1992.

"Michael Moore says that America exports misery abroad. He was treated as royalty at the Dem Convention, sitting next to Jimmy Carter, receiving an award from a Dem Congressional Caucus (Black).

Do you, moderate swing voter, agree with Mr. Moore or his party that America is inherently evil in this way?

He has said worse:

"The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not “insurgents” or “terrorists” or “The Enemy.” They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win. You closed down a friggin' weekly newspaper, you great giver of freedom and democracy!" (94)

We, the United States of America, are culpable in committing so many acts of terror and bloodshed that we had better get a clue about the culture of violence in which we have been active participants...Don't be like us,’ he told a crowd in Berlin. ‘You've got to stand up, right? You've got to be brave.’ (113)

In an open letter to the German people in Die Zeit, Moore asked, ‘Should such an ignorant people lead the world?’ (113)

“I don’t know why we are making so much of an act of terror. It is three times more likely that you will be struck by lightening than die from an act of terror.” (113)

In an interview with a Japanese newspaper, Moore helped citizens of that country understand why the United States went to war in Iraq: ‘The motivation for war is simple. The U.S. government started the war with Iraq in order to make it easy for U.S. corporations to do business in other countries. They intend to use cheap labor in those countries, which will make Americans rich.’ (113)

“Before a delighted Cambridge crowd, Moore reflected on the tragedy of human existence: ‘You're stuck with being connected to this country of mine, which is known for bringing sadness and misery to places around the globe.’

We abhor terrorism -- unless we're the ones doing the terrorizing. (102)

[Americans are]... "possibly the dumbest people on the planet" (92)

"...'You're stuck with being connected to this country of mine, which is known for bringing sadness and misery to places around the globe..."

Really now, if M.M. possessed half of the genius that he thinks he holds in his brain, he would acknowledge the following: That it was Bill Clinton and Hazel O'Leary with (swift and thorough manipulation of the Pentagon)who sold used Supercomputers to China for 8 damn years. When they drop a bomb on the U.S.A. or it's military in the future, I hope he's alive so I can find him, and ask him who spread sadness and misery around the globe. What a skunk. Again,It’s the oldest philosophical and psychological trick there is: distract someone from your own obvious flaws by putting them on the defensive with an outrageous, unfounded and prejudiced claim. No one does this better than an American Democrat.

"America exports sadness and misery..."
Actually, one should not despise a message on account of the messenger, as Confucius once said.
The idea is quite good and laudable: the more sadness and misery we export (preferably to France or some other less-than-friendly cesspool), the less of the stuff is left here. Since it could be presumed that all US Freepers would heartily concur that the less sadness and misery here in the US, the better, I would call upon them to support Moore in this (and this only) statement of his.
