His own political website: http://www.ornery.org/index.html is heavily populated by American- and other Leftists who are delightfully annoyed by Mr. Card's conservatism. He does not post on that site and its moderated by somebody else. He is a registered Democrat upset with hijacking of his party by the Left.
His literary, non-political website: http://www.hatrack.com
His fresh articles appear in the Rhinoceros Times, Greensboro, NC: http://www.rhinotimes.com/greensboro/ (before being posted permanently on his The Ornery American website http://www.ornery.org/essays/warwatch/index.html ). He has 2 columns in the RhinoTimes: one on political/international events, and the second one: reviews on movies, books, and anything he wants (!). I check his and Michael Medved's reviews and found myself reliably relying on them.
Iraq is a beachhead from where we can operate.
Relax, Iran is next.
Bean bump.
Exactly. All we got to do is turn West into Syria or East into Iran or even South into Saudi.
We are in a strategically advantageous position.
Bush ain't stupid.
I think a good case can be made that Iran is a whole lot more dangerous than Iraq was. On the other hand, Hitler's Germany was a whole lot more dangerous than Moussolini's Italy, and we invaded Italy before we invaded Germany. If we must ultimately invade Iran, it will be a lot easier with bases in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Of course, these liberals don't get it, and won't get it no matter what you say, or how hard you try to explain. The truth is that Kerry would not have invaded any of those countries. The "you invaded the wrong country" argument is only thrown out as a ruse.
Give that man a cigar or anything else he wants. His analysis is one thousand percent on target.
OSC is great. But WHY does the man still consider himself a Democrat? OSC, VDH, and Zell Miller -- when will they make the leap? Alas, I fear they are lifers on the Democrat plantation, even though they understand the nature of the beast.
We didn't invade Iran 'cause we didn't have a logistics base that shared a border with Iran. Now we do. Wait.
Unless Card actually chose your school's curriculum, don't blame him, blame your teacher(s).
Although personally, I'd have greatly preferred "Ender's Game" as assigned reading over the sort of stuff I *did* have to read in high school, such as "House of the Seven Gables" -- quite possibly the most stuffy, boring book ever written. What's your beef with "Ender's Game"?
For people (like myself) who actually did enjoy the book, a film version is in the works. And it's unlikely to be butchered like all too many sci-fi books adapted to film versions, because Card himself is writing the screenplay (and he actually has prior scriptwriting experience, so it won't suck in the way that some other author's self-adapted works have -- *cough*StephenKing*cough*).
Please show me one campaign in history that had no mistakes. Usually the mistakes cost many thousands of lives, if not outright defeat.
As a military history buff, I wholeheartedly agree with this comment.
OSC bumparama! I know quite a few Democrats who like this author, primarily because of Ender's Game. When I tell them his opinions on the war, they are incredulous. Then I direct them to his website. Let them figure it out for themselves.

Totally agree. There is a psychological and political rift between pro-action and "war is not the answer" people. One camp is in total disbelief how another camp can't comprehend the logic that is so obvious to the first one and vice versa. Two nations in one...
Don't kid yourself that Iran or Syria is getting invaded. They aren't. Amazing how many people believe it though.
Someone once said that there's an easy way to make a good Stephen King movie - don't let Stephen King have anything to do with it.
[Although Maximum Overdrive is one of my favorite Bad Movies. :-) ]
The forum on his website is full of people like that Democrats you are talking about: very upset that he dares to have the views they for whatever reason did not expect him to have. I for once, was glad, but not at all surprised to see that he is a conservative. From what I read in his books, I did not see utopian socialism ideas as his solution for the future.
