Even with one testicle, Lance Armstrong has more balls than the all the French and Germans put together.

sarcasm> derision>France Defeated AGAIN! French Super Ego Shattered; Millions of French Men Weep Openly as the uncultured American from Texas wins SIX straight Races.

AFP: Members of the American DNC under the leadership of Terry McCauliff and John Kerry are dispatching a team of attorneys to recount the time results as obviously the American team lead by a Texan cheated the French out of a valid win as there were more fans for the European teams than the US team.</sarcasm </derision

I have not been a big fan of Armstrong ever since he left his wife and who stuck by him through all the really tough times and impending death... Then, she bears his child that he thought he'd never have after the worst was over by going through all the clinical stuff. Then after all that, he abandons her for Sheryl Crow... and unltra-liberal-left-wing-communist-skank...

I'm not impressed with him as a person. But, thats just me. I admit that he is the best in the world of cycling.

I'm with you, he may be the worlds best cyclist, but he's a low life bottom feeding puke of a human being.

Armstrong shows what a truly talented person can do if he dedicates his entire life and soul to one single endeavor. Too bad he didn't dedicate a portion of that life to his wife and kids, especially after she stood by him through cancer.

It is the classic tale of wrong priorities. A loss and a family would have been a preferable outcome, in my book.

*sigh* It's amazing how many times this myth has been put forward and debunked over the past three weeks. Armstrong met his wife post-cancer. Armstrong and his wife both state that the divorce was mutual, they remain friends, and Armstrong is devoted to his kids.

People just don't know the real story.

He married after his bout with cancer, he didn't even know her while he was so sick.

The woman who stood by him while he was near death, and indeed has stood by him throughout his life, is his mother.

Lance considers her his hero.

He may not be perfect in his personal life, no one is, but he's one of the great athletes, and did it after defeating cancer, which is an inspiration to many.

He has said he is devoted to his children. How can people reproach him for a divorce, when it's rampant all over the country? He didn't leave his wife for SC, they were having problems before that.

That he was married before the cancer. At any rate, I read a book on cycling that basically said this guy has no life whatsoever, INCLUDING his kids, other than cycling.

"I have not been a big fan of Armstrong ever since he left his wife and who stuck by him through all the really tough times and impending death... "

"1997
Armstrong announces he is cancer-free, and begins partnership with new team, the United States Postal Service, after being dropped by the French Cofidis team.

He also begins relationship with future wife Kristin Richard, and forms the Lance Armstrong Foundation to fight cancer."

She did?

Well, mea culpa then! I wish him and Sheryl Crow the very best life and hapiness. Oh, by the way, was there any frozen "Lance-sicles" left for him and Sheryl to have a family of their own?

I guess I'll put him back up on my hero list... if I can find it. I'm sloppy and I inadvertantly misplaced it...it was an honest mistake.

His wife was working for a sponsor of the Ride for the Roses, Lance's Austin-based race to benefit cancer. Lance dated another woman when he had cancer, but I've read where he said cancer either makes people grow closer or exhausts them, and for them it was the latter.

I've often wondered if the single-minded purposefulness of a world-class athlete (or corporation's CEO, for that matter) leaves much time for personal lives. In the end training, cancer benefits and endorsements deals likely left him with little time/energy for family.
