People just don't know the real story.

He married after his bout with cancer, he didn't even know her while he was so sick.

The woman who stood by him while he was near death, and indeed has stood by him throughout his life, is his mother.

Lance considers her his hero.

He may not be perfect in his personal life, no one is, but he's one of the great athletes, and did it after defeating cancer, which is an inspiration to many.

He has said he is devoted to his children. How can people reproach him for a divorce, when it's rampant all over the country? He didn't leave his wife for SC, they were having problems before that.

The book on cycling, which, unfortunately, I can't recall the title of, suggested that he never saw his kis, or his wife. I'll see if I can find that title.

Sorry, but I'm not going to justify poor treatment of one's wife and kids just because one is successful in sports or business. Jesus called us to be excellent in all things, but the hierarchy is always God, family, then whatever. Lombardi had that right.
