I only heard a snippet of this on Keith Olbermann in the background. He said another figure is under criminal investigation in Washington. Then he divulged that that figure is Republican Senator Richard Shelby.
Something about not turning over some correspondence the day before 9/11 that tomorrow would be "the day" or something like that.
On Brit Hume's show tonight, it was said the Justice Dept. had finished their investigation of Sen. Selby and had turned it over to the Senate Ethics comm. It was something he had mention that was secret, didn't say what it was.
There's no evidence of any evidence either.
Thats no big deal.
This is about a leak of information of phone intercepts AFTER Sept. 11. This is what everyone speculated was Hatch's fault, but it turns out it is Shelby who is under investigation.
And besides that, the timing is suspect...so that makes it okay even if it happened (using the Berger excuse).
Olbermann is a Clinton butt boy. I think he has a crush on the Slick one. He reports anything they tell him to. He has zero credibility.
I didn't think it was possible for someone to be both a tool and a stool but Olberman is just that.
LOL! Exactly!
Now it's starting to come back to me, first they pinned Hatch down, nothing there, then the Democrats approached Shelby, nothing there either. The story died on it's own within a span of not even one complete news cycle. Nothing the Democrats do anymore surprises me. The last time I was actually surprised is when the Democrats demanded to see President Bush's driving record as a teenager while on their quest to prove Bush went AWOL.
Read above - DOJ completed investigation & returned it to the committee ... obviously nothing there & DemoncRATs were only wishing as they have to have something to bash Republicans with in light of the Berger crimes.
Reminds me of the bit in "The Life of Brian" where the poor guy is to be stoned to death for saying 'God'. The clerk reading the sentence won't even say the word the guy is being stoned to death for using but the crowd keeps insisting they know what he said to deserve stoning and when the clerk finally gives in and says 'God' they start stoning him! No wonder Monty Python's works lives on and on!
They don't need any more than those 4 or 5 phrases. Most Dem voters can't handle more complex concepts thatn this.
What heat? The lamestream press has forgotten it, and the GOP probably views it as a PR nightmare. Berger will walk.
I wish they would lock up this two faced punk. I've never trusted this sneaky sob.
I despise Olberman too, but what part of his report is suspect?
Yes, but so was Shelby.
LOL
vaudine
Shelby was probably Clinton's worst enemy in the Senate. What are you talking about?
The Democrats are shallow, their ideas are shallow, their values are shallow, their morals are shallow-shallow defines the liberal Dims. The bad news is that shallow also defines their base and the other dumbasses they seek to beguile.
Republicans are stuck with the task of educating the dumb as a rock, undecided.
Shelby was one of the first Senators to break against impeachment and he did so in a public way in early February of 1999.
He went on the Sunday morning talk show "This Week" and said that there were 10 to 15 Republican senators who would vote no on the perjury article.
It was a BS statement, and it had the potential of swaying other Republican senators to not vote for the article.
It was a "push" statement, I'll never forget it -- it's what I'm talking about.
